Cotswold Gliding club (PZ17) Note change of ICAO code
The Cotswold Gliding club is based on the original RAF Aston Down airfield which dates back to the first World war. With tarmac runways upto 4800' it can be used by GA planes as well as Gliders.
Positioned high up in the Cotswolds in the UK it is ideal for the Discus-2B gliders with winch or tug launches available using the Kinetic Assistant mod. Once airborne the surrounding countryside has numerous fields available should you fail to recover back to the airfield.
The Cotswold Radio Control Society also use the aerodrome for their RC hobby and can normally be found on the north side of Rwy27.
Libraries
I have used a few models from some of the popular libraries on Flightsim.to and I would recommend downloading the latest versions and dropping them into your community folder

v3.0 updated after a report of a CTD. ICAO conflict removed with an official airport with EGCR, Aston Down is officially GB-0011 but MSFS doesn't allow ICAO codes that long so I've reverted to my own ICAO of PZ17
v2.0 All taxiways are now active and linked to ATC. Additional modelling added to the Radio control flying area
v1.1 buildings corrected, where possible, and a large number of people/cars etc added to the general area. After complaints from the RC flyers that the grass was too long I've had to get the lawnmower out and trim their flying area.
v1.0 first release

Great, Tx!

Sadly this airfield causes a CTD whenever it is enabled as soon as you load a flight, either originating from the airfield or when it is the destination. MSFS Sim update 9.

Any chance of an update to this sweet little mod? I appear to have lost my RC Club chaps again!!

I had some glider flying lessons here, I remember a blue double-decker bus and one end and a tracker at the other with a winch for the gliders, there was also what looked like a small house with a balcony where we had our lessons. The hangers had curved roofs.
Nice you have contributed but will it get any more work?

I did some gliding there too (20 yrs ago - when I lived in Chalford). Would be great to see that bus ... is it still there, I wonder?
