Hi !
Here is a pack of 4 helipads with standard shapes :
- Square
- Octogon
- Hexadecagon (16 sides ; yes, I had to check on Google to be sure)
- Circle
- 2 ramps
- 2 stairs
- 4 light insets (red,green,blue and white)
- 3 pillars assemblies
- 3 metallic nets
Textures :
- Everything is included, what you see here are just exemples, that's up to you to modify and write your own hospital / worldwide company / mum's name on the landing area :)
- 1 dedicated texture for each shape / common textures for metal, cement, normal and rough maps, etc..
Physics :
- The invisible collision volume matches 100% the shape of the helipads. Be carefull not to hit the handrails while landing ;)
How to use :
You can not JUST place the folders under your community folder like a standard mod, this asset is for modders
- Place the content of the ZIP into the project you're working on. Final path should looks like "(...)YourProject\PackageSources\modelLib\GBZH35_Helipad_Circle/" (for example)
- Do not modify any name in the files
- If you don't see the pads/textures on your project, TRIPPLE check the names for ALL xml, bin, textures, etc.. this is 99% of the issues :)
- Read the comments, it can help
Credits :
- cc0textures.com & cdn.cgbookcase.cloud for PNG I used as basis metal textures
- @epicfool for ideas, obj files and support !
- Please mention my name if you use the helipads in your own projects, here or not, would be much apreciated !
Hope you'll enjoy it. Do not hesitate to paste a link showing the helipads at your favorite area !

2 suggestions for improvement:
- Increase the metallic roughness factor of the "H_Surface" material to make it less reflective (I changed it from 0.5 to 1 in the .gltf)
- Make the inset lights with an emissive color texture and adjust the light cone to only spill upwards at an angle <180° to prevent illuminating surfaces located under the helipad.

I'm going to upload a new version of my ESGP Säve Flygplats using this any day now.

I've gotten this to work as it is and it's wonderful. However, what happens if I need to place multiple helipads of the same type in one project with different custom textures for each? For example I'm placing the same square helipad but each one has different markings for weights, etc. I can't see any way of doing that without renaming the model files to create a second model and you have stated not to rename any of the files. Anything I'm missing on how to get this done?

Thanks for creating these helipads. I was trying to follow some other tutorials and could not get them to work. Using these with the tutorial from Patriot Six made it super easy. Good job!

Hi very nice work however if I try to change the helipads textures I do not succeed!
I keep the names original, just change the textures but name is the same...still....no change when I load it in the Editor.
What am I doing wrong?
Please advise if you can.
Thank you in advance, Frank.

What an amazing collection of helipads!
My entry into scenery development and motivation to dive deeper.
The library objects can be perfectly customized to personal needs, just great.
Thanks so much, that you have shared it in this way!

Just one question from a designer newbie: how do I manage to texture the circle pad which is obviously not bound to a texture file. Do I need to use third party like blender...? All other shapes have textures by default

Really nice and helpful to finally build those hundreds of helipads since SU11. Thank you very much. Five Stars 🤩

5 stars for sharing this, but really too big files for nothing more : thousands of useless faces , 4k texture for one color .........

Hi,
I used your lovely helipads for a "non-supported" area in Denmark 😊
I hope to make more helipad landingzones in the near future.
