I am pleased to share this airport scenery for Casement Aerodrome, Baldonnel which is situated near to Dublin, Ireland.
This was my 1st Airport Scenery project that included handcrafted custom built models.
The project has has evolved over the last few months and now includes the interior of 3 Hangars, along with the Control Tower Interior. Many, many hours have been put into the making of this.
I have been working on this project since November 2020 for the fantastic TwoToneMurphy community. Please check out twotonemurphy.com who live streams MSFS 3 times a week on Twitch / Youtube, and has an amazing community.
Summary of the scenery details:
- 86 Custom built buildings/objects/signs exclusively made for Casement Aerodrome. These include to mention a few – Memorials, Perimeter Fence, Base Church, Hedges, even Hay Bales! along with all the Buildings on the base including the Hangars & Control Tower.
- Custom Ground textures to accurately represent the unique parking / helicopter positions, along with runway markings.
- Features Animated sliding doors on Hangar One & Hangar Five (operating on a timer)
- Hangar Interiors for Hangars One, Three, & Five with custom flooring which reflect sunshine and lighting.
- Custom (experimental) taxiway lighting, each one being hand placed into position. These taxiway lights are more of a realistic blue colour than the default purple coloured orb taxiway lights. They reflect light onto the surrounding ground if wet, or snowy, and also fade into the distance rather than having the same intensity.
The entire perimeter fence (5.5 miles of it) - Taxiway Signage
- Apron & Street Lighting.
- 1000’s of carefully placed stock objects to create a realistic scene
- Total number of objects in this scenery = 2,538

Casement Aerodrome Aviation History:
The aerodrome was originally run by two pilots from the Royal Air Force.
The airfield was the one from which the first successful east-west Atlantic crossing by a Junkers W33 aeroplane, the Bremen, took off on 12 April 1928 with Baron Hünefeld, Hermann Köhl and Captain James Fitzmaurice as co-pilot.
The first Aer Lingus flight took place from here on 27 May 1936. It was also the destination at which Douglas Corrigan landed on his famous 'wrong way' flight across the Atlantic on 18 July 1938.
In February 1965 Baldonnel was renamed Casement Aerodrome in honour of the Irish nationalist Roger Casement.

WOW.... a lot of work gone in here I'd say. The Hangars feel alive due to maintenance crews working and the surrounding airport buildings are all replicated down to stain glass windows on the church. Night lighting of the runways and taxi ways is A1 with textures done also. As its my local very happy to have. Thanks Jeppesen for an outstanding job.

I had the chance to visit back in the 1990's.
One problem I have discovered, is that you have a rougue named copy of ModelLib.bgl within your objects folders. These can case CTD's according to the SDK documentation.
If you could rename it something like EIME-ModelLib.bgl, then that should fix the problem.
Well done for doing this, and for sharing it with the community.
