# Improvements & fixes for the LHC Trinidad TB-21 GT for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Requires the Lionheart Creations Trinidad TB-21 GT (commercial plane) v4.2.1.
The Trinidad TB-21 GT for Microsoft Flight Simulator is a nice plane with many qualities ... and some issues, the main one being that it behaves more like a TB-20 (no turbo-compressor), with the intake manifold pressure never exceeding the outside air pressure (despite what the gauge says).
I've fixed some issues for my own use, some of you may find this useful.
I strongly suggest you to get a version of the TB-21 Pilot Information Manual (PIM) and have a look especially at section 4 - NORMAL PROCEDURES and 5 - PERFORMANCE, where you'll find all you need to know to fly the TB-21 in a realistic way.
I can't give you a link for this, but who knows, you may have some luck googling "Socata TB21 Pilot Information Manual".
# History
0.1.4 (2021 September 17)
- Small fix to the engine setup to keep it from stalling when idle.
0.1.3 (2021 August 12)
- Compatible with the Lionheart Creations Trinidad TB-21 GT v4.2.1 & MSFS System Update 5.
- Re-did a full engine tuning to get as close as possible to the official numbers (speed / fuel flow).
- Removed the fuel selector fix (not needed anymore).
- Reduced the efficiency of the rudder trim knob, the take-off position was pulling the plane too strongly to the right.
0.1.2 (2021 May 15)
- Compatible with the Lionheart Creations Trinidad TB-21 GT v4.0 / v4.1.
- Optional invisible propeller for better compatibility with VR motion compensation / reprojection.
- Removed the custom cockpit gauges, not compatible with this version
- Removed the yoke texture color fixes, not needed anymore
0.1.1 (2021 April 21)
- Fixed the fuel tank selector : when entering the plane, the selector shows "left tank", and fuel will now come from the left tank as it should.
- Fixed the cockpit logo with customization option
0.1.0 (2021 March 31)
- Initial release, compatible with the Trinidad TB-21 GT v3.6.
# Installation
- If you have a previous version of this mod, delete it from your Community folder.
- Copy the zzz-Moulinsart-Trinidad-TB-21GT-plus directory in your Community folder. You can rename it, as long as it comes _after_ the original plane's folder name _alphabetically_.
- Optional : if you fly in VR with motion compensation / reprojection on, the propellor animation can be annoying as it produces flickering. If you'd rather have an invisible propellor as seen from the cockpit when the engine is running, simply copy the "Simobjects" folder from the "optional-invisible-propellor-read-the-README" to the "zzz-Moulinsart-Trinidad-TB-21GT-plus" directory (answer Yes when asked if you want to overwrite the files). Do not copy "optional-invisible-propellor-read-the-README" folder to your Community directory ! This will have no effect.
# List of Improvements & Fixes
- The plane is now a TB-20 no more, but a true TB-21 with a Lycoming TIO-540-AB1AD turbo engine. The max manifold pressure has been set around 33 inHg from sea level to 20 000 ft, as described in the PIM for ISA conditions. It will then decrease linearly down to 27.4 inHg at the service ceiling of 25 000 ft.
Here are a few test results of my engine tuning (TAS=True Air Speed) :
Altitude | Power | Man. press. | Prop. speed | Fuel flow | TAS (from the PIM) | TAS (with this mod)
11 000 | 75% | 23.6 | 2 300 | 16.4 | 166.5 | 166.1
19 000 | 75% | 25.7 | 2 300 | 16.4 | 177.5 | 179.2
21 000 | 75% | 25.6 | 2 300 | 16.4 | 180.5 | 183.0
23 000 | 75% | 24.5 | 2 400 | 16.4 | 183.5 | 187.1
The speed is as good as I could get it in the most-used altitude range of such a turbo GA plane : between 10 000 and 20 000 ft.
The plane has no Turbine Inlet Temperature (TIT) gauge as a turbo-compressed plane should ; we have to use the EGT gauge instead. Keep the needle of the EGT gauge below the star to avoid overheating the turbo.
- Reduced the efficiency of the rudder trim knob, the take-off position was pulling the plane to the right a bit too strongly.
- Fixed the "Weight & Balance" page where the plane's center of gravity was in the red with the default 50% fuel load.
- Propeller made less visible
- Optional invisible propeller for a better experience with VR motion compensation / reprojection.
- Wing bump map fixed (all liveries) to smooth exaggerated wrinkles on the wings.
- Wing textures corrected (only for 4X-JES and D_HAUN liveries) to remove the rivets that were not aligned with the bump map. The bump map is the best way to show rivets, drawing them on the texture is a bad idea, especially when they're in the wrong place.
- Canopy transparency corrected for "clean" liveries (too dark by default).
- Dirty canopy transparency corrected for 4X-JES and D_HAUN liveries (too dirty by default). If you want to copy the "PLEXI" texture to other planes, the other "dirty canopies" are N7248J, G-CBHA, VH-ARC and 334. I haven't touched VH-BXE and its own outrageaously dirty set of textures, it has its own charm. :)
# Advice
- Use the free GNS530 mod ( https://github.com/pimarc/pms50-gns530 ) for some nice improvements to the abilities of these old GNS530 / GNS430 systems.

Sadly speaking, it is not recognized as installed in the conternt manager of SU8 yet.

Very well done! Before your mod, the virtual T-Daddy had all the looks of the real thing, but none of the guts. Thank you for going beyond the cosmetic. You gave it a heart and made it much more representative of the real thing. It is greatly appreciated!

Would also love to see 2 more things:
1. Glide slope indicator should function on the HSI that sits directly under the AI.
2. Taxi & landing lights need to be stronger and aimed better
