The first thing you'll probably do when trying this tool for the first time is move your currently installed addons outside of your 'real community folder' to put them in your new 'custom addon folder'. To avoid problems, please try first with a single addon only to make sure everything works fine for you.It would be sad if you move 200GB and then you notice it does not work for you. Files placed directly in the new folder should always work but, for some users (not the majority) the files moved might get encrypted if you have the MS-Store version so it's worth checking before. Thank you.
note : for the detailed changelog, please check the 'changelog' tab at the top of the page, below are just general informations
Addons linker / Addon linker
Hello
Another little addon manager. Made to match my own needs and just sharing with the community.
I tried to keep the UI very simple but it should hopefully do the job 'feature-wise'.
- lets you organize your addon freely in folder and subfolders in your folder of choice
- will create links in the community folder. There is no need to move files in and out of the folder.
- very easy to activate/deactivate groups of addons (single click)
- lets you save presets of addons
- lets you rename addons (link will be automatically updated)
- lets you add / update / remove addons
Installation :
- just extract all the files and drop them in a folder of your choice and run the EXE file
usage :
- create a folder where you will put your addons, add your addons in there instead of putting them in the community folder, you can create as many subfolder as you want to organize your files efficiently
- launch the application, in the options screen set your 'addon folder' and your 'community folder'
- just click on the checkbox to activate/deactivate addons
- rest should be fairly easy to understand (little quickstart guide should be coming soon if needed)
notes :
- if it doesn't work please try to set the application to run as admin, if it works but you still get the message at the start, just disable the message in the options screen
big thanks to the guys in the AVSIM forum that helped me testing the very first versions with feedback and ideas. I will now post it here exclusively making it easier to maintain for eventual updates.
Thank you
Gerardgeek
Sorry for involving you on this - I eventually sorted it with trial and error - Great software - thank you 😊

However ... downloaded this latest version and as with previous updates have over written my current version (0.20.8566.36401) and it does not run - not sure why. I even just tried to run the executable in the downloaded new version and the program will not run. Fortunately I've got backed up copies of previous versions and these still work - would like to install the new version however will not work ... any ideas what the problem is? It's as if the downloaded file is corrupted in some way (although have downloaded several times). Would welcome your advice please.

One or more links could not be created! Probable causes :
X 1. Make sure the program is run 'as administrator'
2. Make sure the folder 'c:\users\benas \appdata\roaming\microsoft flight simulator\packages\community\asobo-aircraft-b787-10' does not already exist.
3. Make sure you don't have 2 folders with the same name in your addons directoy because it will not be possible to create a different link for both of them in the community folder 4. Links can not be created on external drives formatted with the exFAT file system
Error: A file or folder already exists with the same name as the junction.
I have tryed following the steps and running it on administartor mode but i still get that error.

When I have a file tree in Addon Linker, for example a folder for all MammuDesign ou GAIST folders, it's impossible to select as I want. When I click on the toggle for a line, it toggles out another lines in the folder. And I can do it indefinitly without having my selection right.

1. If I move the airport addon somewhere out of the community folder, will the GSX still be able to find its path?
2. I put my community fold in the SSD. If I move some addons into HDD, will it have any impact?

- just unzip all the files in a folder of your choice. Run the EXE file to start the program.
- for updates, make sure you delete all the existing files before replacing with the new ones.
- updating will keep your settings because they are store elsewhere (settings are stored in the 'c:\programdata\msfs addons linker' folder)

I noticed opening my community folder that old deleted addons (mostly old broken liveries) are still present in form of broken folder links, am I the only one getting it or is there some way to check for them and delete automatically? I'm wondering if the sim checking for broken links is taking a toll on loading times.

Question: I would like to use the new feature "Delay (seconds) before Launching sim" to automatically start the "Map Anhancement Tool" before starting the sim. The maximum time for the "delay" is 10 seconds. During this time, however, I can't manage to start the Map Enhancement Tool, select the map and activate the map in the tool.
What did you think of this? Is there perhaps a way to automatically start the correct map in the Map Enhancement Tool in the AddonsLinker?
Thank you very much!
