Titirangi Bay Airstrips, New-Zealand, for MSFS
Real-life airstrips with fictitious ICAO code NZ97
Version 1.4
--Description--
Titirangi Bay is a beautiful place in the north-eastern part of Marlborough, South Island.
At the foot of Puzzle Peak, Titirangi is a small farm with a camping site near the beach.
The farm owns an airstrip right there, which is the main focus of this scenery. But not far from here, on the slopes of the nearby hills, one slopy airstrip is used for topdressing. And on the other side of Puzzle Peak lies another small topdressing/crop dusting airstrip. All three are within minutes from each other, by plane.
The Titirangi bay is next to the Anakoha Bay which has an interesting airstrip as well.
--The scene--
It's a new airfield as it doesn't exist in default MSFS. I used default assets, custom handcrafted buildings and also some assets from various library. Please make sure you have them installed in your "Community" folder.
The surrounding has been heavily edited: vegetations has been enhanced, terraforming has been applied and kilometers of fences have been deployed.
The scene proposes actually three runways/airstrips: the main one, at Titirangi farm, at sea level; one on the northern slopes of Puzzle Peak and one on the southern slopes, facing Melville Cove. The main one features a moderate slope and is not so long, so don't come too fast. The two others are much more challenging. Especially the one on Melville Cove where wind generates strong turbulences. And be careful of the rocks!
--What's new--
v1.4
Made compatible with World Update 12 "New Zealand" from February 2023.
v1.3
Reworked a bit to use assets from my library.
Added few people around.
v1.2
Removed the Airport Services definition files that caused services to disappear from not only this airfield (as intended) but also all the airports in the region or even worldwide (bug from SU5).
So now you may see marshaller or pushback here even if it's not realistic at all, waiting for this situation to be corrected by Microsoft/Asobo.
v1.1
Reworked to make it compatible with Sim Update 5
v1.0
Initial release
--Installation--
Just unzip and drop the "sbworks-airport-nz97-titirangibay" folder into your "Community" folder of MSFS.
It is recommended to install those libraries:
- BeeKay-Pack1 v5.0 (https://www.flightsim.to/file/8887/beekay-pack1)
- Windy Things (https://www.flightsim.to/file/14024/windy-things)
- Mikea.at assets pack (https://www.flightsim.to/file/1923/mikea-at-assetpack)
This scenery is part of my "Marlborough airstrips project" and so it is well completed with:
- Anakoha Bay Airstrip (NZ98) -> https://www.flightsim.to/file/14667/anakoha-bay-airstrip-nz98
- Koutumai Point Airstrip (NZ99) -> https://www.flightsim.to/file/14590/koutuwai-point-airstrip-nz99

Great work mate! Using OrbX here, it is much nicer overall. Your landing strips compliment it really well!

Thank You
Fantastic Job !

Nice work Stéphane. My vote is for default mesh, Airports/Strips are one thing, but I like to leave base scenery to Asobo rather than have to chase one mod after another.
