History:
Winisk is located on the northern Ontario coast of Hudson Bay beside the Winisk River. It was the site of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Station Winisk which was part of the Mid-Canada Line early warning radar line. The station (known as Site 500) was opened in 1957 but closed in 1965. On 16 May 1986 the neighbouring town of Winisk was flooded and abandoned with the residents moving to the new community of Peawanuck created south of Winisk.
Installation:
Place the folder in your community folder and enjoy - the airstrip is starred and located off the eastern coast of Baffin Island

I have plans on adding some more "abandoned" runways along the James Bay coast of Ontario along the Mid Canada Line. These were only operational for less than a decade but still appear in satellite imagery.

Thank you. I will be updating the file to Version 1.1 with the addition of a few more POI, but will make a new upload to get that Canadian flag on it - I have not found out how to update it here to get it indicated as part of Canada :(
