Guys PLEASE READ THIS FIRST especially if your mouse is hovering over the 1-2 or 3 star rating!!!!
If you are a big fan of Pak'nSave or Aldi supermarket... Cheap but practical.... Then you will... I hope you will... Enjoy this small package of airports/airstrips/aerodromes within the imediate vacintiy of Palmerston North... Some may say... (sarcastically....) The most exciting town/city in New Zealand.... Certinanly one of the windiests!!!!
I have a little small farm strip, I call it Rongotai airstrip... It's on the T intersection with Green road... I drive past this every other day for work and there is a small hanger with a Cessna 152 or something like that.
I also have Feilding aerodrome with lots of parking, I mean there is no parking information on AIP so I have just winged it (pardon the pun) and have placed parks infront of all of the hangers and I have linked all of them up to a taxiway and also added a grass runway which gliders and the like use... Youtube Feilding and you will see that Cessnas and the like use the grass runway too...
AND....
I have tried to pull off the 'MY BEST...' representation ever of Palmerston North Airport... I mean... It's a lot better than what we had and I mean its going to be the best I can ever imagine to do with the very basic knowledge that I have... Maybe I should have started this first before I tackled Auckland International Airport on my first ever attempt at an airport... ever... in my life..... Some say aim small go big straight away...
But I have placed all the gates as close to and as closest to what they are in real life... (If anyone can give me pointers on how to do those amazing taxi lines on that briliiant Nelson airport) then please tell me... But please "like a good painting..." or a veeery average painting... in this case... "Oh my five year old could have drawn that in his bad mood..." don't look too closely to my "steady...." hands... as you follow my taxi lines... Just appreciate a few curves here and there and the fact that it's not a swiggle here and a swiggle there like on the MSFS/Asorb take on Palmy... All the gates are there, including the cargo one that the 737-400 use and also there is the Massey aviation parking bay... I cant for the life of me figure out why I can get taxi to GA parking (some grass GA ones I have added between the Massey and the main gates) but there is no prompts for the Massey parking.. But anyway you will get ATC guidence for taxing from the Massey parking area to the runway...
I will try to figure it out and tidy it up particuarly the blue edge lights on those other taxiways and find away for the bigger aircraft not to use the small taxiways... and promise to share any updates that I may make to Palmy..

How do I open the RAR file mate?
fras444 author
It should just extract if you double click it, I'm assuming that if you don't have Winrar then windows just selected the default program that zipped/unzipped files
WinRar is a 'supposedly free' (you can still use it after the "30day free trial" I've been using it for the last 5 or so years) winzip program that a mate of mine recommended to me years ago
I'm not tech savvy but I've been using it for a number of years

Good on ya. Spent many an hour at Palmy airport in my youth just to watch the NAC 737s and F27s coming and going - one movement every couple of hours.. lol. Apart from the terminal everything looks just the same as it did forty years ago.

Mate I'm from Rotorua and grew up there during the 90s and it was a fantastic place and era for a plane geek to grow up in.... Mount Cooks HS748, Ansett NZ DH-800/BAE 146 and the three daily 737-200 flights by Air NZ then, as I use to say with pride... We had every aircraft type that Air NZ at one time had in it's domestic fleet operate into Rotorua which I feel was on of the few places if not the only airport outside the big three... The 90s/-00s EMB110's and Metros of Eagle, ATR72-200 Mount Cook, Saab/Metro Air Nelson 737-200 then 00s onwards Eagle B1900D, Air Nelson Saab/Q300 Mount Cook ATR 72-500/600s 737-300.... Ansett/Origin/Qantas/Tasman Pacific J32/J41, ATR72-200/Q100-300 BAE146-200/300
We had everything in Rotorua
