Changes the flightmodel.cfg and the cockpit.cfg to make the aircraft more enjoyable to fly.
Flightmodel.cfg:
-Eliminates the shaking or "spring" effect of the elevators and rudders.
-Limits the aircraft to 8-9 G's.
-Adjusts the rollrate, to make the aircraft roll slightly faster at low speeds and slower at high speeds.
-Brings the external camera closer to the aircraft.
-Locks the gear above 250kts.
Cockpit.cfg:
-Adds G-Meter to external HUD.
-Changes the IAS display on the external HUD. ( Green 100-600kts, Yellow 600-800kts, Red 800-850kts )
Replace both the flightmodel.cfg and the cockpit.cfg in the aircrafts main folder. You have to replace the files for each variant. (E/C/D/I)
Community\justflight-aircraft-f15\SimObjects\Airplanes - you'll find all 4 versions there
v1.1 changelog:
-improved the general lift of the aircraft, also made the aircraft behave better lift wise around mach 1
-increased the MOI ( moment of inertia ) for the elevators to give the f15 a less "snappy" response
-increased the dampening of the elevators in response to the MOI increase
-made other smaller adjustments
v1.2 changelog:
-increased the roll rate of the aircraft
-increased the g load at lower speeds
-increased AOA capability by a bit
-made the pitch transition smoother
The old file is still up and can be downloaded in case there are problems. Keep feedback coming.

How can i update the system.cfg on this jet?
Fly987
Is this compatible with sim update 9 & F-15 v1.0.8 ?
elliotf6
Sadly, there is no Flight_model.cfg to replace. I have stuck it in each folder and it has NOT worked... I can see others stating this issue but is shrugged off as 'it is there, just look' attitude. Cant rate this mod as there is no assistance for this.
Perhaps it is the file under 'Gameplay.cfg' ?

Community\justflight-aircraft-f15\SimObjects\Airplanes - all 4 versions have these files in their folders so you have to replace the cfgs for all 4.

The million dollar question remains, where is the flight_model.cfg file to replace?
I have full admin read/write/edit permission on all official and community folders, yet can't find the flight model file in DCD F15 main installation folder nor community folder!! Only the cockpit file is there.

Can somebody point me in the direction of the original file? I seem to have trouble finding it.

This is great, thanks.
I've also noticed this issue with a bunch of aircraft.
Could you give some more insight into what you think causes it, and what you specifically changed to eliminate it?
Thanks!

pitch_moment_pitch_damping = -35050.0 ; -this is the text line that handles the spring effect. most aircraft have a very low number like -100.0 or airliners tend to go towards -700ish but for jets i have to go with extreme values since increasing the MOI also affects the pitch damping. the same line also exists for rudders.

Nice work!!! 100% better!

I have been talking to one of the developers of the aircraft and he is reworking the paintkit to give it more layered ..layers because the etchings are on a painted layer which you cant hide, and he is going to make it a PSD file. Im also doing the 75th Anniversary Oregon ANG repaint..I have a 1:48 scaled TAMAYA decal sheet for that paintjob and its has crazy details , so I'll use that for my repaint.

Overall ok but definitely need to keep trimming up at all times as the nose wants to dive with even a slight drop in airspeed.

yeah i need to give it more lift. for now i run like 16 degrees in up trim

Anyone know where to put the flightmodel.cfg in the Microsoft store version? Love the external HUD though works perfect.

I got this one from JustFlight. Is the store version not in the community folder ?
