To install, just axtract into your Community folder.
The PR Mk XIX is a V12 Rolls Royce Griffon powered reconnaissance Spitfire, producing 2050hp gave it a topspeed of close to 720km/h
and with it's pressurised cabin it was rated for up to 14000meter altitude.
It was not equiped with any weapons (as not is this liverie) as it could cary up to 3 cameras for reconnaissance instead.
One located on the left side behind the cockpit pointing diagonaly down, and two under pointing straight down.
The Swedish Airforce bought 50 PR Mk XIX in 1948 from England, and stationed them at F11 reconn wing at Skavsta in Nykoping.
The Swedish dessignation was Spitfire S31, where "S" stands for reconnaissance, or "SPANING" in Swedish.
1955 the S31 Spitfire was taken out of service, replaced by the SAAB S29C "Flying Barrel".
When the last Spit was retired, nine of them had crached or seen other severe damage, and one was badly burned do to a fuel leak at landing.
The rest of the 40 Swedish Spitfires were used for target practice, fire drills or scrapped. None of them vere saved....
1982 the Swe AirforceMuseum finaly got hold of an PR Mk XIX to put in their Museum. It was an expencive trade!
The cost? No less then one Dc3, one Hawker Hunter, one AD-4 Skyrider and two SAAB A32 Lansen with allot of parts...
For one incomplete Spitfire PR Mk XIX without its Griffon engine.
