This is an Airsardiniavirtual.it release, so please visit our ARSARDINIA VA Airline site to know us
I had to change the Icao from Liev to Lie1 because some sudden person has attributed Liev arbitrarily to a flight camp named Aviosuperfice Santa Lucia located in Cizzago, Brescia and therefore the system does not allow me to give him his true LIEV ICAO code!
This is my first attempt to create an airport on Microsoft Flightsimulator, it is an ideal reconstruction of how it could be and how it is actually this airport now closed for some time but currently used by the 10° Carabinieri flight Group and various helicopter bodies for aircraft and police operations.
I've inserted a control tower to give a more interesting aspect but actually whose function and carried out primarily from the CTR of Lieo Olbia Costa Smeralda (which is actually in Rome)
All the rest buildings and scenario are plain, unique changes needed the track and taxiways that are equal to the current reality.
You can also admire the various aircraft of AirsardiniaVirtual.it parked on the APRON.
Have fun and good flights
If you want a more realistic go here my first V.1 https://flightsim.to/file/21187/liev-olbia-venafiorita-v-1-2-real-as-is-with-10-nec-c-c-carabinieri-heliport
SOME INFOS
Olbia-Venafiorita Airport
Olbia-Venafiorita Airport IATA code None Code ICAO LIEV Commercial name Olbia Airport - "Venafiorita"
Description Dismissal Italy Sardinia Region Location about 4.5 km from Olbia Construction 1927
Coordinates 40 ° 52'n 9 °
Olbia-Venafiorita airport was the first airport that served the city of Olbia.
Inaugurated on 15 May 1927, equipped with hydroscalus and aviation field then named after Fausto Noce, since the following year it became operational for civil flights. During the Second World War the infrastructure was damaged by repeated bombing; After the airport the airport resumed working and new flights were established with destinations also towards Continental Italy. In 1964 he became the HUB of the Alisarda airline and the stretch of the track was decided. The increase in air traffic and the non-adequate dimensions of the infrastructure led to its disposal and opening the most modern and functional Olbia-Costa Smeralda airport between the late 1960s and the beginning of the seventies. The airport infrastructure also housed the Olbia-Venafiorita meteorological station, also replaced in the 70s from the new Olbia Costa Smeralda meteorological station located at the new airport airport.
Today the former Venafiorita airport hosts the 10th carabinieri helicopter core.
In 2018 it was used as one of the locations for the Catch-22 television miniseries.

Ciao!
