*No need for this "FIX" anymore as Asobo has fixed the mirrored textures on their model*
Fix for mirroring textures on rear passenger door for tha Asobo/Microsoft Ju 52/3m 1939 model.
This is a new, easier (hopfully) working fix for the mirrored textures for the left rear passenger door, on Asobos/Ms Junker Ju 52 1939 model only.
(Unfortunately i havent had a chance too loock into the Modern Ju52 yet, there is a lots of "decals" to fix in the 3d Model files for it to be repainteble, some day...)
The first version was a decal patch, to cover the mirroring textures on the left rear passenger door. It was a bit complicated but worked ok. It had some flaws tho, as the "decal" made it hard to get the reflections, roughness and so on same as rest of the fuselage.
Even tho im not a 3D modeler, i find it hard to just accept a defeat... So ive used the method " Trail by error" to work out the easy way to do this... Now that ive learned a tiny tiny bit of the 3d modeling world, its is obvious that this is what I should have done from the beginning... :-D
This version just separates the left rear door textures, from the original "JU52_AIRFRAME_FUSELAGE2_ALBD.PNG" texture files, to its own, now named "Passenger_reardoor_ALBD". It now also has its own COMP texture to be edited and also its own NORM bumptexture (They are all realy just a copies of the original textures files with new names, masked to only show the many parts of the door.) That makes the door all original, same as the rest of the fuselage.
The fix is made as a "ready to go" liverie to put inside the Community folder ,after the repainted and edited textures are added!
It contains a Model folder, with the reworked 3D Model files (Lod01 to Lod06), a Panel folder to be used to remove the Registration from both the fuselage/wing and instrument panel. (Note that the "decals" used in the original 3D model for the fuselage/wing for this registration name/number , are deleeted from this model, so this feature is not avalible anyway) and a Texture folder, containing the necessary texture files for the door to be repainteble.
Feel fre to try it out!
Changelog Ver 1.0.1
- Seperate texture files made for the rear door only, so it can be repainted just as rest of the fuselage, instead of a decal/patch to cover the mirroring texture.
- Seperate COMP an NORM file also included for the door, to be edited at will.
- The broken animation (Asobo bug) for the right engine propeler not rotating when engine is running (both cockpit view and exit view) is now fixed in the 3D model.
- Floating rivets, that could bee seen just behind the left wing (Asobo bug) is now placed on the engine cowling where they belong.
Known issues:
- Asobo/Microsoft has locked/hide their highest quality 3d model file (LOD00) so it cant be edited for now.
Due to that, this fix uses the LOD01 3D model, that might bee a bit less detailed or a bit lower quality. I havent found anything that looks different tho. - If Asobo/MS uppdate their 3D model in future, this fix may not work, or have to be reworked to work properly. USE AT OWN RISK!
Howto:
1: Rename and shange "DOORFIX" to your liverie name, on the main folder *Ju52-DOORFIX* and also the same namedfolder inside *Airplane*.
2: Rename all the folders *Model.DOORFIX* *Panel.DOORFIX* and *TEXTURE.DOORFIX*, to your liverie name.
Note: The Model folder contains the 3d models, that gives the mirrored rear door its own texture files (The ones inside Texture.DOORFIX). Those .DDS files can be
repainted to match the other textures you repaint. "ALBD" for paint. "COMP" for reflections, metal/no metal etc. NORM for bumpmap.
The Panel folder makes the registration letters on the rear fuselage, and inside cockpit on the instrumentpanel NOT to show. If you want registrations to
show, just deleete this folder, or edit the panel.cfg inside as you wish. Do not edit line *Panel=* in aircraft.cfg if Panel folder is deleeted!
3: Put all youre other edited/repainted Texture files inside the TEXTURE.DOORFIX folder. (They are not included in this "fix" but can be found in the original
Microsoft_Junker_Ju52_1939 Texture folder.)
4: Edit the *aircraf.cfg* file in notepad, or a texteditor of your choise.
The lines under [FLTSIM.0] , just change all text that says DOORFIX, to whats your
liverie is named. Under ui_createby=, change GulKalle to your own name.
Most important are the lines *Model=, *Panel= and *Texture=, that must have the same name you named your folders to!
So it should look like this then:
;===================== FLTSIM =====================
[FLTSIM.0]
Title="Junkers Ju-52 DOORFIX"
Model="DOORFIX"
Panel="DOORFIX"
Sound=""
Texture="DOORFIX"
KB_Checklists=""
KB_Reference=""
description="Ju 52/3 DESCRIPTION"
.
.
.
ui_createdby="YOUR NAME"
-----------------------------------------------------
5: Edit the manifest.json in the first folder if you want, it's not necessary tho!
6: Dont forget to edit the *thumbnail.jpg* to your own liverie thumbnail picture!;-)
7: *******IMPORTANT**** When all is done, its just left to edit your layout.json! NOTE THAT THIS IS VERRY IMPORTANT!!!
If not all the files is pressent inside your layout files libary correct, it wont load into sim.
It can be done manualy (google it), or quick and easy just using a drag and drop program named MSFSlayoutGenerator,
and it can be downloaded from here:
https://github.com/HughesMDflyer4/MSFSLayoutGenerator
(Just drag and drop your layout.json onto the MSFSlayoutGenerator.exe, and it will rewrite your layout libary with all folders and files
inside your liverie folders.)
8: Put the whole liverie folder you just created inside your Community folder and try it out! If all done corectly, it should work out just fine! ;-)
Good luck!
Best regards GulKalle

What a great idea to add a extra texture to hide mirrored door. I only wish you could add COMP texture mapping to doordecal too. I'd like to make metallic door, but now I am getting only painted look. I am not sure if NORM texture is also needed to achieve this.

Answering to myself. I found out that there is easier solution for this. One can edit pbrMetallicRoughness parameters directly in .gltf files and achieve metallic look with it (of course without any details that separate comp texture could offer)
