*** Our joint "FinnHEMS" Project! - OPTIMIZED for HPG H145 v283+ & MSFS2020 SU11 ***
After my first FinnHEMS livery was "out of date" because of new registrations provided to all of the exisiting FinnHEMS aircraft, and after meeting the FinnHEMS pilot Markus Sinervä, we decided to bring "his" very real helicopter "OH-HNF" to MSFS and to a whole new level of realism TOGETHER! So, Markus was so keen and kind to provide countless pictures and videos, even crouching under & climbing on the helicopter between all of his real HEMS missions during his watch in Rovaniemi (FH51, EFRO, Finland). He answered all my questions and provided useful and interesting informations, I am allowed to share here with you, the community:
The Airbus H145 OH-HNF is based in FinnHEMS base FH51, Rovaniemi Airport EFRO, right above the arctic circle (66°33'20.1"N 25°49'19.8"E). Rovaniemi base personnel consists of two pilots (commander and copilot) and two experienced paramedics. FH51 operating area is the biggest of the Finnish bases covering the whole arctic Lapland area. Sometimes the patients are even transported to Norwegian hospitals in Tromsø or Kirkenes. The distances are very long compared to all other bases, and weather conditions are quite challenging specially during the winter time. One speciality for the Lapland area, north of the Arctic Circle, is that during the winter time the sun doesn’t rise at all for several weeks. In the north most part of Finland the sun does not rise at all for 51 days. NVG’s (Night Vision Goggles) are playing a very important role in FH51’s operations. To keep things in balance, the sun doesn’t set at all in Lapland during the midsummer time.
FinnHEMS operates in six locations in Finland. The southern bases are operated with H135 helicopters and northern bases with H145 helicopters. One base is going to be opened in the near future to Seinäjoki Airfield. Callsign for FinnHEMS helicopters are ”FinnHEMS XX” (XX replaced with the base number eg. 51 in the case of Rovaniemi).
Bases:
South (H135 bases)
- FH10 Vantaa (Helsinki-Vantaa Airport EFHK)
- FH20 Turku (Turku Airport EFTU)
- FH30 Tampere (Tampere-Pirkkala Airport EFTP)
- Going to be opened in the future: FH40 Seinäjoki (Seinäjoki Airport EFSI)
North (H145 bases)
- FH50 Oulu (Oulu Airport EFOU)
- FH51 Rovaniemi (Rovaniemi Airport EFRO)
- FH60 Kuopio (Outside of Kuopio Airport EFKU)
Markus is one of the pilots in FH51 and works for 48 / 72 hours straight (on watch). If he's not working, he likes flying MSFS, making photos and videos, hiking and his family. You can follow him on his Youtube and Instagram under "Markus Sinervä".
Asked, why he's flying in MSFS although he's an real world H145 pilot, he interestingly answered:
"Because why not 😄 I know that many professional airliner pilots fly on their free time some intercontinental flights and air traffic controllers do some atc-stuff in Vatsim. I just love to fly in almost realistic world with almost totally realistic looking helicopter and just fly whenever and wherever I want. The HPG’s H145 is also so perfectly detailed that I can do almost everything like I do in the real helicopter from the startup to shutdown. And the sounds are so awesome too! I can also practice approaches to a congested areas with the strict regulations and operational procedures we have here, or just fly however I want. And one big deal for me is that I can fly IFR-flights and practise different IFR-approaches to keep my routine in good condition. I’m waiting that HPG and MSFS20 will get the autopilot and Garmin GTN750 work perfectly in the future. It’s already reeeaallyy good 👌🏼 I think that’s why 🤔😄"
Thanks for your amazing help, your patience and the nice chats, Markus! I wish u all the best and we will stay in touch! See ya!
2 variants: Action Pack HEMS and the normal Civilian variant, custom pilot and (HEMS) crew clothes, custom main rotor blurred texture, some custom decal transformations, texturing of the turbine oil indicator, custom subtle dirth & soot layer (Sorry, Markus! I know you are cleaning the baby always perfectly!), FinnHEMS tablet wallpaper and, and, and...
Due to model limitations we were not able to do really ALL of the amazing details we encountered. But, this here is atm as close as it gets to the real thing. Pay attention to the fuel door decals, the turbine oil indicators, the radome with its "lightning rods" and so much more!
If you like my work, feel free to give me a nice little star review. I also appreciate a coffee or a muffin from time to time. 😁
Installation:
You have to own the Hype Performance Group Airbus H145 in order to use this livery and the additional Action Pack to use the dedicated EMS livery! Purchase & download you will find here: https://www.hypeperformancegroup.com/products/xxxx
Unpack the ZIP file into your MSFS Community Folder. Once you start your simulator, the liveries should be visible as FinnHEMS OH-HNF under the H145 CIVILIAN VERSION and MEDICAL VERSION. Hint: Please delete any of the old FinnHEMS liveries, if still installed, before installing the new pack! Due to the new folders it's obsolete now.
For the H145 version 272+ (including the Action Pack 272+!) you don't need this editing anymore:
For external crew (walkaround and hoisting), due to the custom crew clothes: For build 261, you should add a line called
"H145 FinnHEMS AP-EMS OH-HNF Crew" (without the quotation marks)
to the file: ..\hpg-airbus-h145-ap\html_ui\HPGH145-User\Missions\objects.txt
to enable external humans (for a walkaround and hoisting). For build 262+ you won't need to do this.
Thanks to the guys from HPG for delivering such a beautiful and immersive rotorcraft!
If you find any mistakes, please let me know!

I was planning to do this by myself, but then I found this. Thank you! 😊
