The forth out of upcoming six packages contains points of interest in the Northern region of Baden-Württemberg. The castles are located in Franconia in the area around the city of Heilbronn.
The models are released under contract with State Office for Monumental Preservation at Stuttgart Regional Council (www.denkmalpflege-bw.de). All models provided have been created by using photogrammetry which represent the geometry and textures in high level of detail.
For version 1.1.0, the following points of interests have been adapted for MSFS 2020 and integrated into the package.
Lichteneck Castle
- The castle is built by the counts of Freiburg. First written mention in 1290. The Count of Friborg hands over the castle to his daughter and her husband, the Palatine Count of Tübingen in 1356. In the Geroldseck war the castle is burned in 1434. In the Thirty Years' War the castle is conquered by Swedish and Imperial troops in 1632. Under Louis XIV Lichteneck is conquered and destroyed by Lieutenant General Marquis de Vauban in 1675. The castle has not been rebuilt.
Bronnbach Monastry
- The monastery was established in 1151 and mentioned for the first time in official records in 1153. It was founded by four knights who bequeathed lands to the Cistercian order. Since then, the complex has become a coherent ensemble of buildings after numerous phases of construction over the centuries. Today, Monastery Bronnbach is used as a venue for concerts, seminars, wine tasting, guided tours and other events. The monastery complex also has facilities and a guest house for conferences, seminars and training.
Schoental Monastry
- Schöntal Abbey (German: Kloster Schöntal, Reichskloster Schöntal) is a former Cistercian abbey in Schöntal in the district of Hohenlohe, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is famous as one of the most impressive pieces of Baroque architecture in northern Württemberg and is now used by the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart as a retreat and training centre.
