This is a modification to pull back ASOBO's agressive shorelines around the Isles of Scilly to reveal more of the coastline, beaches, rock islands and shallow water / sanbanks. The waters are beautiful around the Scilly islands and this is an attempt to try and reveal as much of that beauty as possible until we are able to create watermasks within the sim or ASOBO adds them to this area.
PLEASE NOTE : My mod is purely related to the shorelines and sandbanks I do not take credit for the excellent Isles Of Scilly Scenery created by superspud which can be seen in my screenshots along with my shorelines mod. Superspuds scenery is highly recommended and can be downloaded here https://flightsim.to/file/3615/eghe-st-mary-s-airport-isles-of-scilly-uk-upgrade
For instalation extract the folder "mgk07-scilly-isles" into your MSFS community folder.
Check out my other sandbank mods here: https://flightsim.to/profile/mgk07/uploads
Happy Flying.

Just wondering: Superspud's v2.5 scenery contains a sub-folder 'scilly-watermask'. Does that co-exist with your mod or need I disable it?
mgk07 author
I think this is Superspuds watermask layer that he was testing a while back using a workaround method. I've not tested it myself lately so he may have improved it further. The two should coexist together but I would delete my mod if in doubt as the watermask will be superior.

Thank you for the sand bank mods, they look fantastic. One question. I have an older file called -
mgk07-scilly-isles-sand-v2-1 (last installed January 2022 timeframe)
Is this an older version that has now been renamed to this or is it a seperate mod entirely? Not sure whether to remove it or whether it is superseded by this one.
Was wondering if you could help ID this. Thanks.

Hi,
Thanks for the feedback.
Sorry I don't recognise that file name and not sure where that has come from as there are no files in my mod of that name and version 1 is the only version I created.
There should only be two files inside the main folder of my mod, layout.json and manifest.json as well as a folder called "Scenery" which contains a Water.bgl file. I would suggest to redownload and see if it happens again and let me know.
Thanks.

Thank you very much for developing this scenery and the shorelines. They really make for a great experience, great that people like you make these addons so the community can enjoy the sim even more. Greetings from the Netherlands, Cheers Marc

Thanks for your kind words. I can only take credit for the shorelines mod. The fantastic scenery is done by the awesome Superspud. He is the scenery master! :D

I had a quick look at this with the drone cam last night. It's incredibly well done and looks very similar to Inibuild's excellent Alderney payware, really brings the coast to life. Can't wait to fly here again properly in VR soon.

Great job, a real pleasure to fly over the Scilly. Thanks

Nicely done. Thanks.

I thought Superspud's Isles of Scilly was just about perfect, but I was wrong. Your mod take the Isles to the next level, icing on the cake! Even my wife, who has no interest in computer games or flight sims was very impressed with the screenshots I showed her. Highly recommended!

This looks incredible, thankyou! Thank's to Superspud's amazing Scilly overhaul it's one of my absolute favourite places to fly so this will be the icing on the cake.
Not sure if you've seen Inibuild's payware Alderney, but their coastlines are fantastic, the best I've seen, you can see all the individual rocks glistening under the water it's amazing.
By contrast Jersey and Guernsey look awful. I read that Jersey has the largest tidal changes in the world, the island literally doubles in size at low tide. It would be fantastic to have its coastline improved if possible.

Thanks. I’ve not got Inibuild’s Alderney but I’ve seen screenshots and it does look good. Adding watermasks is not currently possible in the SDK but I think there must be a workaround technique some developers are using to allow some level of water masking so the sea level can be retained but made more transparent to allow the textures to show through. I wish I knew how!
I’ll add Guernsey and Jersey to the list. The list is starting to build up so bare with me 😊

Great work buddy, simple but effective and thank you for making it compatible with supersuds work!

You seem to to like to mod and improve sandbanks and sandy shores so I have the best one in the world for you to look at 😊 In Canada. In Ontario there is a provincial park that used to be called the Sandbanks but is now known as the Outlet provincial park since two neighbouring parks were amalgamated. (I am specifically talking about the west side with the Sandbanks dunes beach). It is on north shore of Lake Ontario and it is the largest fine white sand escarpment on fresh water in the world. The king of the sandbanks just waiting to be shown some love. Thanks for your work and contribution to the community.

Sounds great! I'll make sure to check that out. Thanks.

Thank you very much. Looks much better and more realistic. Was getting really sick of having high-tide all the time 😊
Hope you will also do something like this for the rest of Cornwall. Especially Kynance Cove and the Bedruthan steps would need some more sandy space.

Thanks - I’ll have a look and see what is possible around Cornwall.
