Upgrade airfield & scenery for EGZV Lundy Island Airfield, Lundy Island, Bristol Channel, England, UK.
This upgraded scenery was requested. Based on images & online information.
One of my early "Scenery creation test airfields", but works well. May look to upgrade in future, needs subtle improvements.
Version 2.0 New Textures changed to runway base, numbers removed, taxiways highlighted, taxi cones added. More static aircraft/models/tents people. Helipad highlighted at Southern end of Island.
Note: This additional file is required for taxi cones to appear. See link below

Important! Buzz the strip first, to clear off the sheep !!!
For info runways set accurately at 04/22. Heading approx 040/220 degrees. That said it appears that maybe the accepted designation is 06/24? I have also seen reference to 03/21 & 05/23! Maybe its something to do with the sheep? If anyone has "accurate" info please post in comments. At this moment in time (2022), the Magnetic north & True North are pretty much the same in this area, just in case that becomes a debate!

I really enjoy Lundy island, many thanks! In conjunction with birds addons (something MS-Asobo have completely neglected) and some of the weather presets available here, it makes an incredible spot for low flying.
For some strange reason I do not see the lighthouse tower at the old light cottage. I have both required asset libraries installed. Windsock, stones, aircraft, service man. all is here. But not the tower. Or did you deliberately remove it in v2 like the obsolete grass markings?
If I may suggest a couple of improvements: Like many of the MS default houses the so called Northlight (historic landmark) builing (aka Lundy North Lighthouse, Trinity House) at the Western tip comes completely incongruously. Maybe you can replace it with a building with a more 'historic'' look?
And when I circled the coastline in low level I noticed a number of trees standing in sea waters.
One last thing I noticed. The rocks along the strip pop up quite late on approach, it would help my landings to see them earlier. Is that an LOD setting you can adjust or can it be solved by a setting on my side (my Object LOD is maxed out on 200) ?

Thanks for your excellent work. I have been showing off short narrated flights from Southwest airfields, on a website - armchairflyers.com. This shows your scenery: https://armchairflyers.com/lundy-airfield-flying

Nice video, Clive! Thank you for sharing. I always enjoy Lundy-centric media. There's just something that draws me to that place. Having lived for a few years in Hawaii, it must just be something to do with islands, in general.
BTW, if anyone else shares my island "fetish" there are some pretty interesting videos about Johnston and several other Pacific islands that were abandoned by the U.S. military. A good starting place: Tour de Johnston Atoll - Full Island Tour 2019 - YouTube

Just curious does anybody know what happened to the other version of this scenery? I can't remember the developer's name now but he's taken down all of his sceneries I believe. He had a double version of Lundy, a summer season one, that was packed with people, animals and many bespoke buildings, plus an out of season one without the people.
I still have the out of season one but I wanted to load the summer one back to fly to this week and I no longer have it.
It was such a great add on, I'd love to have it back if anyone still has the file and could upload it?
I don't know the developers name but the winter file is called jp-egzv-lundy-island-off-season

Great to see it back after the first version.
I Live on the North Devon coast.
Would be nice to see Chivenor EGDC updated, it has been done but not like it was really although a good effort.

You are quite the prolific
Was just looking through all the other places you have developed and noticed that you seem to like doing the more remote and obscure airports/bush fields.
One that you might want to consider is from my home state - Vermont.
It's KEFK, Newport, Vermont.
I plan to submit a normal airport upgrade request through the "flightsim to" site, but just thought that you might like a head-start, if you're at all interested.

I just installed and tested your latest update V 2.0. It works great and I really love where you are going with this unique island's scenery.
I also viewed the links you provided and enjoyed them very much.
One additional video that initially inspired me to find this place in MSFS is from an UK pilot who flew his Aeronca in for the 2016 event. Although his camera's resolution is not of the highest quality, Mr. McComish's fascinating voice over commentary more than makes up for it.
You might want to also include his link in your description:

5 Stars!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
It's so nice to have the correct runway configuration once again as well as the addition of the old light house.
What would be real icing on the cake would be to see all those antique aircraft parked along the side of the strip that typically arrive for the annual Lundy Fly-In!
I live in the U.S. and have always envied those in the UK who can make that flight into this unique island. All I can do is watch their videos on YouTube and dream...
Thanks again, Man!
