Haast Aerodrome, for MSFS
Real place with ICAO code NZHT.
Version 1.0
--Description--
Haast is a very small town (84 inhab. )on the west coast of South Island, NZ, settled on the shore of the Haast River. It was named after Julius von Haast, a geologist who discovered Moas fossiles in NZ.
It's quite a remote area, with mobile phone coverage since 2018 only, and it's own electric grid (not connected to the NZ national grid).
The airfield was created in the 40's to serve as base during WWII. It was used twice. Then it's now privatly owned and looking for development.
The runway is gravel, there's AVGAS and JetA1.
--The scene--
The scene is a rebuilt of the default airfield.
I used several default and custom assets and others from various libraries.
It has been developed using the Orbx NZ Mesh, so I can't guarantee its compatibility with the base mesh but should work.
Work done:
- runway and parking place recreation
- perimeter fences
- adjustments of vegetation
- custom buildings
- recreation of the Haast River (its lower part only).
--Installation--
Please remove any previous version of this scenery you may have.
Just unzip and drop the "sbworks-airport-nzht-haast" folder into your "Community" folder of MSFS.
It is more than strongly recommended to install this library:
- TSR Windy things
- SBworks Library v1.4 or later
--Credits--
All work done by SBWorks (Stéphane Beilliard).
February 2022.

Another great little airstrip.

I love your sceneryes, however in NZ there are not refuelling stations like that of standard Asobo. Usually there is the round tank and not much more. A shame there are not many pictures of this airport but maybe on you tube there is something. If I find something will send you a link. Thanks!

Thanks for your comment!
Indeed, I don't claim to be 100% representative, especially when I used default assets. But according to me, the station looks relatively close to the real thing (enough at least :P )
