Fly The Maddog AAO Scripts & StreamDeck XL & PLUS Profile (including VRInsight MCP Combo template)
for LORBYs AxisAndOHs (AAO) and its SD Plugin
by Guenseli
You need LORBYs AAO and its StreamDeck Plugin to run this StreamDeck profile.
NOTE:
You need the AAO version 2.80 (or higher) and the StreamDeck plugin 14.15 (or higher).
Make sure you have the AAO InGame panel activated! Please read the AAO manual about!
You have to update your Elgato Software to version 6.0 and higher!!!
ATTENTION!
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!
- When you import SD profiles, make sure to delete the old ones, otherwise you'll get profile copies.
- Make sure to always have the latest AAO and AAO StreamDeck plugin versions!
- I just create the SD profiles! For any connection issues, SD plugin not working, Buttons show "?" or nothing, no reaction of the SD etc., please contact the developer of AAO! And please read the AAO Manual!
- It is - as the title says - just for the StreamDeck XL (!). Please do not ask for a 15 button conversion. This will not happen as this will more than double the amount of development and support for me as I do not have a 15 button SD. Sorry
- Profiles for the AAO MCP Bridge are only tested and working with a VRInsight MCP Combo II (Boeing). Other variants will probably not work
- Please ask if you want to use parts of my SD profiles, icons or AAO scripts or whatever! And please ask everytime you start a new project! You have to credit and link me in your description!
If you use my work, you are then not allowed to beg for own donations!
Installation:
Install the SD profile by double clicking at MADDOG MD-82.streamDeckProfile
Install the SD PLUS profile by double clicking at PLUS MADDOG MD-82.streamDeckProfile
Import the AAO script AxisAndOhsScripts_MADDOG.xml according to the AAO manual
Installation of the MCP Combo template:
Import the VRInsight MCP Combo2 DC-6 Setup.tmpl into AOO
You can download the VRInsight MCP Combo II Display profiles here:
VRInsight MCP Combo II (Boeing) Display profiles (for AAO)
Known issues:
In my opinion, the Maddog is really poor coded and a really poor port over from FSX times. Therefore there's some lack of features other developers implement better. So, I do not have any variables for internal lights values, you you can just INC/DEC without any numbers. Some other quirks are also present with my profiles I can't change because of this strange code behind the Maddog. have fun anyway ;)
As always, the AxisAndOhsScripts could be assigned to any other hardware you have. So, this download is not only useful for StreamDecks!
AAO Scripts have been developed with help from Funatic! Thx!
It is a lot of work to do these icons and gather the variables. If you like it, please consider a little donation, thx!

There is no way on this planet that I'm holding the Tab key whilst spinning the actual knob in the cockpit with a mouse.
I don't spend 100s of quids on Streamdecks to have to do this.
What's wrong with the developer ?
Has he been snorting 8 Balls ?

Hi,
Many thanks for your scripts. I'm currently trying to map my controls using AAO. Would it be possible to create a scripts which sets both landing lights (l & r)?
I tried to combine both scripts, but it doesn't work. I'm not really familiar with RPN, to be honest.
Many thanks in advance,
Marco

If you have greyed out buttons, no reaction of the StreamDeck, exclamation marks etc, that means you have connections issues between AAO and the StreamDeck.
94% of all support request are due to no proper connections or outdated versions of AAO and/or the AAO SD plugin.
Check ports, check the troubleshooting PDF, contact AAO support.
My Streamdeck profiles work (beside from probably little bugs). If you have such issues, I can't help you, sorry! Support requests can't not solved by me as I'm not the developer of AAO!

Is there a script option for "autothrottle disconnect?" not specifically off, but the side button on the left/ride of the throttle levers, hit twice and autothrottle disconnects and warning clears. I wasn't able to find something that does this function.
Absolutely amazing thank you so much for this!
Edit: Got some hints from someone on the Leo forums, this is the LVAR for "autothrottle disconnect": (>K:#70107)

New Elgato StreamDeck 6.0 software has a change regarding the fonts.
In short this mean, all my profiles are "destroyed" more or less.
Will have a look if it is a bug on Elgatos side, which will be changed in the next days/weeks or if I have to rework them all.

Any chance you can rework the Maddog?

Is it possible for you to make scripts for:
Tried on my own, but failed as I have no clue how to make it. 😊
Great work as always!

Don't hold your breath, its unlikely as I use a VRInsight combo which covers these options, so I do not have a need for it on the StreamDeck.
Beside this, I have a lot of other workload currently, sorry.
So, no promises here.

Heya, i tried to import the script so i can assign them to my Honeycomb A+B, but this does nothing. any other way i can see the events? Dont have access to a streamdeck
Guenseli author
Sorry to hear.
But this has nothing to do with my scripts as they work.
Have you had a look into AAO manual how to assign scripts? Or try to contact AAO support please.

Seems like the speed increase and decrease only sets 165 and 100 nots. I am using it on the HC Bravo MCP panel. Also, can you do a script for CRS INC and DEC
Guenseli author
SPD inc/dec is buggy, yes. Have no solution currently.
CRS does work out of the box (here)

Great mod. Only issue I've found is that the speed knob on the MCP INC/DEC scripts seem to do odd things - jumping between 100 and 161, and not incrementing or decrementing properly.
Guenseli author
Yes correct. No solution currently, sorry

What a beast of an Aircraft, so complicated with all the Variables. Great that you work on it, tried it myself and failed very hard 😀
Can we expect a BAE146 Streamdeck version? This one seems also a lot easier 😉
Keep up the great work

thx!
"Can we expect a BAE146 Streamdeck version? "
I do not think so. The Maddog will keep me busy a while and the PMDG 737 is also around. So I assume I will have enough work (and less money) the next weeks and months ;)
