Known as the North Fork Valley Airport, ICAO 7V2, located near Paonia, Colorado on a mesa within a lush agricultural valley and along the North Fork of the Gunnison River.
This project was started because the airport was missing in MSFS2020 until a recent update. Even then the Bing image was terrible (see the image showing the comparison of the Bing and Google aerial photos). After its addition to the sim, the airport was very little like the airport in the aerial images. Using MSFS Developer Mode, this project is an attempt to make the airport more realistic and more interesting.
Custom models are included within the project and are mostly free Sketchup models converted with ModelConverterX. Other models are assets from the following libraries and projects located on the flightsim.to website:
library1v10; by: ColinJ; file: MSFS2020 Object Library with 200+ models
library2v10; by: ColinJ; file: ditto
ap-fences-1v1; by: Art_P; file: West Palm Beach Internation Airport
kb_static_aircraft_MSFS; by: Art_P; file: ditto
kbpi-palm-beach-intl; by: Art_P; file: ditto
All other models and objects are default Asobo and Microsoft objects within the program.
This project is free to use. This project is not to be uploaded to other websites nor is it to be for sale for private or commercial uses.

Nice update! I just checked Google Earth, and sure enough, the new aerials from 10/22 do indeed show a few changes. It's nice to have the new hangar and the recently modified runway designations in place now. Thanks again.

Runway markings now match the magnetic directions better. I suppose that's why the airport redid them.

Fantastic airport, I love the beautiful approach into this area, you've done a great job. However, for the last 6 hours I have gone through *ALL* of my scenery folders temporarily moving batches of scenery and airports out of my community folder until I found the batch containing this addon airport that was completely breaking *ALL* push-back services in the sim. I don't know if it's because you have an irregular folder structure for your AirportServices or if it's something to do with your layout.json file, I'm not a scenery designer so I'm unfamiliar with the naming conventions and folder structures when it comes to the SDK. Please take a look at it for yourself at any vanilla airport starting in a GA parking spot to see if the little yellow push-back tugs with the guy on it is there or not. Just thought I would let you know.

I appreciate your comment. I'll check this situation further; push-back was not affected on my computer after the SU11 update, but I'll definitely look into it further.

I used to fly into this airport IRL with a bonanza and a normally aspirated 182 regularly! This brings back wonderful memories of the area, the fantastic summer peaches and cherries, the fledgling wineries that made an alcoholic grape drink that wasn't quite good enough yet, the genuine friendly Colorado small town people, the Aspens in a fiery yellow this time of year, and a winter that made you want to go outside and play!
It is a really cool airport being on a mesa and as someone who started as a flat land pilot this airport was one of my first big challenges!
The fact that its also accurate and quite well done makes this a solid 5-stars for me.
Thank you!

Oh boy, 7V2 fixed and enhanced… awesome! It’s one of my favorite airfields…
At MSFS launch this airfield wasn’t even on the map, and even after Asobo added it, the Bing runway misalignment totally ruined the experience. Back in my Pre-MSFS X-Plane 11 days this airport was also not present and as the central Colorado Rockies is one my favorite VFR exploratory hangouts I created my own version too (which I never got around to releasing), so I became intimately familiar with its assets and layout. The elongated mesa it sits on is remarkably well situated for a runway and is such a pleasure to arrive and depart from. Indeed, it almost seems as if Mother Nature placed this mesa there with an airfield in mind!
You’ve done a magnificent job here, right down to the pergola and picnic table on the east side of the main parking area. A quick VFR flight from KASE (Aspen) to 7v2 (or vice-versa) makes for a scenic hop over some of the most beautiful peaks in the Central Rockies. Thanks for taking the time to create and share this. I’ll be in and out of this field in the Kodiak frequently now. Happy Landings!

Like you I've fallen in love with this place too. I actually like North Fork Valley better than Sedona. (I may be biased because I live in Colorado too.) I'm so glad you'll enjoy my effort. If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
