So you like flying fast and low with your powerful jets? Good. Very good.
Now, it's time to see how precise you can be! Are you ready?
After my previous route in the USA for aerobatic aircraft, here is a new obstacles paved route. And this time it has been designed for jet fighters!
Located at the Mach Loop (Wales, UK), you will have to pass 64 different obstacles with active collision. And some of these obstacles are animated, so be careful.
Your base airport for this exercise is EGOD. You can also download the flight plan attached to this add-on.
You will require my aerobatics library version 0.4 => https://flightsim.to/file/29554/aerobatics-model-library
A few tips:
- Try to aim an indicated speed of 250 to 300 knots.
- Don't loose too much speed in hard turns.
- If you're flying the F/A-18 (Super Hornet), you might want to use speed brakes most of the time to keep it precise while aiming at an obstacle.
- If you see you're going to miss an obstacle, it's okay. Fly next to it and prepare for the following door/pylon. You'll do better on your next lap. It's still less frustrating than crashing your plane in the trees or bouncing around depending on your damage parameters ;)
Enable/Disable collision obstacles:
By default, the scene has the collidable obstacles (red paint, purple lighting). If you want the non-collidable obstacles instead (blue paint, yellow lighting), you need to:
- Rename "layout.json" as "layout.json.collisions".
- And rename "layout.json.noCol" as "layout.json".
I've tested it with:
- F-16C > quite "easy", good manoeuvrability of the aircraft.
- F-14B > a little less control, but still good.
- F/A-18 (Super Hornet) > it can be done... but it's complicated.

Excellent! Thank you for the variety of ideas.

You have added another level of fun to our sims!!! I am aeronautically challenged when it comes to following flight plans. I've tried for a year to 'find' and fly the mach loop course. Downloaded your mod, headed where I thought it should be, and whoa!!! - I found it... only with your help though!
Your quality obstacles are fun to crash in to :\
Here is a fly over of the course with an attempt at a few gates at the end.

Thanks for your message and video. Yes, I really want to increase the fun factor of flight Sim.
I'm also a big fan of the simulation component... But fun should not be forgotten 😏
That's why I'm working hard on the next version of the obstacles library... To allow scene creators to make more crazy stuff with more original ways to challenge the pilots.

I like 😀

Booah, some structures are sickeningly deep.
My death account has risen massively... power poles are only still in 2nd place XD
(most Deaths with Hawk T1 @ 350 +/-20, Goshawk works better )

Thaks for the 1.1, too!
😍

Holy moly, this is intense and great fun!
I know the mach loop a bit, having flown it a couple of times in the sim, but THIS is adding something new to it.
A challenge of a new kind!
Great work, thanks a lot.
Just i timer to measure lap times i´d like to get, as mentioned...
😉
My first attempt in a Vertigo did not last too long... then i tried the Extra, which makes it a bit easier due to the lower speed... but it IS challenging.
Just a suggestion: maybe a second version with maybe 30-50% larger gates to fly through for beginners? To get used to this and the "stress", such a track can cause? If you master that, you´ll have it a bit easier to "survive" this version of the track.
Also may i suggest to get the Reno Airraces tracks in your version, to have something for several classes as a round-track? Would be great fun, too.

Thanks Scooty :) For the comment and the ideas! I will do something on the sidewinder soon. And maybe I'll do a variant of this precise course with non-collidable objects, so beginners can practice without frustration before switching to "the real one". Actually... I'll add this to the backlog right now :)

Wonderful!
Love it especially the directional indicators and the Himalayan look to them.
Go straight to the top of the class for originality.
Five big stars for this!

Thanks for the very nice comment and the stars. I'm really happy you like this obstacle course :)
I have other ideas on the Sidewinder, with a few "new" moving obstacles (that are not build yet)... So stay around for more fun !

That looks like fun 😊
