The “Souricette” is an old dream of Michel BARRY. This dream was to develop a minimum aircraft, but without concession to safety or piloting pleasure. Only the performances which, in his opinion, are never directly linked to safety and pleasure, could be sacrificed. This was done as soon as he realized that a rustic and relatively thin single-seat cell could be built with 80 kg of common wood and powered by a 12 HP motor. An internship in the USA made him discover the NACA 0417 profile and its astonishing finesse for Reynolds of 2106. This profile, initially studied for speeds of the order of 300 m/s (transonic speed), revealed an interesting operating peak around 30 m/s, where it was not expected and especially where no one had thought about using it! More efficient than the traditional and older NACA, it presented above all the same performance (fineness and maximum Cz) as thinner profiles (12 to 13%), whereas it, 17% thick, made it possible to achieve a higher spar (170 mm for 1 m of rope) and therefore lighter (about 10 kg less for each half-wing) compared to NACA equipment by 13%.
Despite the fog and the snow, Michel BARRY carried out, aboard the "Souris-Blanche", a simple jump on the runway of FERTE-ALAIS, on February 13, 1993. The next day, the feast of SAINT VALENTIN obliges, the weather being more favourable, our friend Michel BARRY was able, for more than an hour, to make changes which revealed the excellent flying qualities of the machine and its perfect tolerance to the most unusual situations!

Now that she flies, I take her out on a Spin almost every evening. She Revs a bit high for a JPX505 or 425, 5300 instead of 4400, but otherwise is very pleasant.

Glad you like it.
Enjoy your flight aboard Souricette😂

this is best vfr plane!cuz speed is slowly!!nice work!!thx

Using Live Weather in Canada, she simply will not fly. She won't lift off and will not go over 65km/h. She runs into a Wall at that Speed and simply doesn't have the Lift necessary to get off the Ground and out of Ground Effect.
I am getting almost 4400rpm, using Auto Mixture, yet she simply will not climb.

I really, really like it and it is one of the planes I want to build for myself one day.
Constructive Criticisms:
Possible Engine Upgrades would be the Simonini 250 or a Polini Thor which are very light and can fit featherable Propellers for gliding or a Bush Kit as some Souricette Owners have fitted small tundra tires to their Souricettes.

Hello
I just updated the flight model.
For information, the engine power setting is 27hp, the mixture is on automatic

This is a fun, simple plane. Everything's native MSFS, no portover here! Thanks for doing this unusual little aircraft. Always love a chance for a unique flying experience!

Thank you for your comment.
Indeed Souricette already existed for FSX but I had to resume all the modeling under Blender for MSFS.
I will therefore continue to redo all my FSX planes in order to fly them under MSFS
I plan to continue with the Super Guépard 912 (see my web site oldpat.e-monsite.com)

I am unable to start the airplane from cold and dark, has this feature not been added yet, or am I doing something wrong?
