Piedmont Airlines is a US-american regional airline based in Salisbury. The airline was formed merging Henson Airlines and Piedmont Aviation in 1983. Four years later the airline was bought by USAir. After USAir changed its name to US Airways and the merger with American Airlines, Piedmont Airlines operates its fleet under the name American Eagle.
Piedmont Airlines never operated the Douglas DC-6. This fictional livery is based on the DC-3 with registration N56V.
Note: Due to the differences in the design of the fuselage of the DC-3 compared to the DC-6 some adjustments were necessary.

The regional Piedmont of today isn't associated with the original Piedmont 1948-1989 based in Winston-Salem NC.

I flew Piedmont out of New Bern, mid '70's, when I was in the military stationed at Cherry Point. I don't know what type of plane it was, but it had props. Wasn't a very smooth ride either. This is now my favorite livery.

As the DC-6 has a count of four props you can now recreate this and other bumpy rides.
