Welcome to Gable Field KRKT! This is a complete airfield and air race course set in 1930's Los Angeles loosely based on the movie the Rocketeer. It is situated near the Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory where the fictional airfield could have been. It includes all of the main buildings, hangars, and grandstands based on dimensions directly from the movie and made from the ground up with the utmost attention to detail. There are tons of easter eggs included for the die hard fan. There is plenty of parking at the Bulldog Cafe! Or get in your GeeBee and do some circles around the Luxemburg zeppelin.
The air race course is composed of two race courses, a short 4 mile track that makes an oval, and a longer 14 mile course that takes you through the hills over the observatory and right next to the Hollywood sign. Start at the north facing runway and when you reach the Bendix pylons turn left for the short course or right for the long course. POI's are included to help guide you through the pylons.
There is an ILS frequency for the runways at 110.5 (north) and 110.6 (south)
This took a lot of research and a lot of time to put together. Please donate through paypal if you like. Thanks!
The addons needed for the best experience are:

The main hangar is based on WombiiActual's hangar (not needed for this air strip but please download it to check it out at Winkle Bar and at the airport where they actually filmed the Rocketeer movie)

Is there any way you can make gate 24 work?

A very imaginative, well-modelled, nostalgic scenery!! Would love to see more historical airports like this, or those based off of movies etc. Very well done, I'm really enjoying it!

Godd idea and plenty of details. But as Scooty said, there is way too much powerlines with the very popular mentioned addon. A relocation would be great.

I was testing this other addon, that measures laptimes and uses your track for it and discovered something else to notice:
there is a great addon, that adds electric lines to many regions of the world, which adds a great amount of realism to the sim:
https://flightsim.to/file/26186/powerlines-and-solar-farms
Unfortunately, the area, where your track is located, seems to have a big amount of electric powerlines in the real world located. The "vanilla" sim does not have those powerlines realistically placed, but the mentioned addon shows them all.
Flying in this specific spot is a suicide mission! Tons of cables and masts all over the place, also at the spot where you added the runway... which results in departures under electric lines. You maybe wanna take a look, add this mentioned addon and maybe cosider some re-location of your scenery.
About 24.000 users have downloaded this powerlines addon, so a lot of people will find this same issue, when trying to use your scenery.
You should really think about a re.location of your scenery, i think.

OK I'll just ignore the months of work I put into this and just relocate it for you

As a Rocketeer fan, thank you so much!!!!

I´m getting into "testing mode"... 😉
Also don´t forget, the region where you locate the track is much harder to keep an overview ,than a flat region like the Reno races. So having large(r) gates as mentiones would be a much more visual help to find your way along the track as it is needed for a Reno race.

I found some POIs on the worldmap. They ONLY would be visible, if vou have POIs on during flight. Most people turn them off. Could it be, you are (mostly?) flying this course in outside view? Most people are flying with the cockpit view, which makes it nearly impissible, to see the poles and where to fly next.
Maybe yo uwanna consider using bigger things as gates like this here, which should be muc hbetter vivible from some distance, also in cockpit view:

Don´t get me wrong, i don´t wanna talk your project down into earth. I´m very muc hinterested, also as it´s used for the race timer addon. It´s just, i think, you could and should improve things a bit to gain a much wider attention, which this project really deserves.

I very much appreciate your feedback! working on it :)

I found your scenery due to "race tracker". It seems to be great, it´s just, i have absolutely no idea about the layout of the track(s) you created.
There are so many gates close to each other, which confuses me, where to go left or right or anywhere. Also, is there a start/finish line or so? Maybe a flightplan for ingame navigation and a pdf with the track(s) would be a great help to understand things.
There seems to be some "short course"" and some "long course"? Some words to clear things up would be very welcome. This procect could be worth it!

thanks for the feedback, have you tried it with POI's on? I'll work on a map.
