The center of gravity was moved forward and the characteristics of the rudder were adjusted so that the linked youtube video could be reflected.
This mod allows the tail wheel to be lifted into the air at about 50~60 mph during takeoff, and this will also keep the tail wheel airborne even at 60 mph or below during landing, avoiding the buffeting effect caused by stall AoA.
So you can land in the same way as shown in the video.
(You can keep the tail wheel in the air by pushing the stick until the speed drops below 60 mph to avoid buffeting effect.)

Thanks Milviz for a great product. I just made a small modification so that the users of your product can enjoy your Corsair.
v1.4: Modified to support Corsair v1.3.0 230612 SP2.
v1.5: Adjusted the torque value on roll to make a balance with trim settings.

and would be cool if they or you do something with cylinders temperatures, it was strange in 1.2(too cold at speed) and still strange in 1.3(jump immediately to 240 after engine start + too cold at speed)
einherz
i flew probably all your mods for corsair, versions i mean, and i think, i still think, cg can stay on default... booth 1.2 and 1.3 version after landing 2 points can take horizon till 60knts with full flaps and idle gas. so with some prop help i sure it can do that at 40 or 30 flaps too... with your mod i can take tail up after landing at 40kts... so i think you have to check sensitivity probably reactivity settings, and joystick reaction... so as you said for it's works good it have to take 60knts tail up on landing, but she do that without modifications...
p.s. i test the bird with 50(only full reserve tank) or less fuel
thank you
bug and minuses now in mv 1.3version is don't working tail hook, that they said it's working even if change 0.25 to 1 in hook settings... and for xbox users they kills torque and p-factor... i guess for balance it to the 6&6&1 trimmers she need some p-factor and torque correction not only torque and probably washing, but i don't sure this model works with it i even don't sure she have prop washing modeling... for now official v1.3 version really strange, and your 1.5 much better. but 1.2 from milviz was better... just needed some cosmetic stuff, they did in 1.3 with left wing lamp, and some changing prop animation, but i think they can do better😊 in any way they and you do really cool job

Very good update of your mod, thanks!
einherz
would be interesting to know what the change, because 1.3 become too easy... could you make effect's similar that we got in bf109g6😊?

Thank you for your feedback.
All my modifications in v1.4 can be found on the line following the original line marked with a ";".
If this flight model feels easy to you, just change the pitch_stability and yaw_stability values back to their original values.

Can this be used with the new beta of Corsair?
ssy523 author
I am not in the beta program, so I'm not sure. Thank you for the information. I didn't know the beta program was ongoing."

I didn't read the fine print. I placed the folder containing the two config files in community. Probably doing nothing. I should save my Corsair cfg files and then overwrite the originals with yours, correct?
ssy523 author
Yes right.
I recommend you to make a backup before you overwrite the original files.

This is a great mod which greatly improves the flight model. In addition you can also edit the vertical CoG to get rid of the nearly constant wing drops at landing by following the modifications explained by K5083 on SOH, thanks to him:
https://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php/129232-Milviz-FG-1D-CG-vertical-location
To make it faster, here is the parameter to be changed:
empty_weight_CG_position= 1.15, 0, -2.0
You can also edit the vertical and horizontal CoG of the three drop tanks in the FUEL section, to avoid surprises should you land with fuel left in these tanks:
Center2= 0, 0, -4, 172, 1
External1 = 0, -2.5, -4, 150, 1
External2 = 0, 2.5, -4, 150, 1
Thanks to your mod and the modifications of "K5083" this plane is now a pleasure to take off and fly and without the worries on landing, even in cross wind.

Thank you for the information. I will update the file soon.

Very well done, felt very lovely and less murderous trying to land this beast.
(any chance you could also try and maybe make that tailwheel freewheeling? As it now react sooner than the rudder itself, whereas i'd reckon, the rudder should be pushing the wheel over, than the other way around. Just feels like that tailwheel has too much authority while taxiing)
ssy523 author
Thank you for your feedback. I think I can not add free castering tailwheel feature. Only Milviz can modify the source code.

Was absolutely tearing my hair out trying to land this thing. Your mod makes it still challenging but at least achievable. Thank you.

hi again, can you make hook is crash point for catch the wire? i can land this on the carrier but only at first feet of the deck, intuitively i go to wires and this is not enough for stop her lol. i resend that question to the milviz forum. hope they are add that in model. after carrier update, when landed stuff stay on the deck after landing so cool. after that i stay with that great carrier addon. and about sound. when you open cabin. is change only engine sound, but environment stay same almost deaf world. i ask that on the msfs forum in corsair thread but... you know
ssy523 author
I don't know if it's possible to add interactive points for hook to Milviz's model and if this violates the license.

btw. i didn't try it yet. but did you test dry tanks model? in real they all get back to the base almost empty. may be with empty tanks you can landing same way
ssy523 author
Fuel tanks, bombs and rockets are located behind the CG. (except external center fuel tank) Therefore, as the weight of the external fuel tank increases, the weight of the tailwheel becomes heavier. My guess is that with an empty tank you will be able to keep the tailwheel in the air even at lower speeds.

this model i think need to some improve. this engine must has really strong gyro stab and gyro recession effects. there's moon weight momentums works lol. but with all of that this aircraft has balanced tabs at ailerons and elevator. that's mean when you move the stick you in same time moves balanced trimmers(sad is not animated by milviz). and by that way you can control that beast by fingers. so there must be found compromise - stay with heavy gyro effects but in same time with easy controls... i think gyro good implemented in p-40 you can move it heavy, but you must move it heavy lol... other way in corsair. i think real corsair pilot, who works with milviz must some push them 😊

Thanks for the information you provided.
I would like to improve this mod with many experienced users.
flight_model.cfg is a simple text file as you know. You can edit with notepad.
The gyroscopic precesson is changed by adjusting the values of the following items.
gyro_precession_on_yaw=0.35
gyro_precession_on_pitch=0.35
gyro_precession_on_roll=0.35
0.35 is the default set by Milviz and the default set by MSFS is 1.
Optimal values can be found through several trials.
However, after changing and saving the values, you need to reload the airplane into memory in developer mode or restart MSFS.
For reference, the items below are for setting the reaction speed to the value set above.
pitch_gyro_stability=0.33
roll_gyro_stability=0.53
yaw_gyro_stability=0.53
The default value set by MSFS is 0, the higher the value, the higher the stability to the gyro.
If you share your optimal value, it will be a great help to other users.
I hope many people work together to improve this cool Milviz product.
I really appreciate your feedback.

Great work, by the way. This fixed a lot of the gripes I had with this flight model and Milviz's lack of interest in updating it.
Just as reference, the intercooler opening at high speed happens for me as well, but with or without your addon enabled. It has been brought up in the Milviz support forum. I just thought I would mention it so you don't get the impression it is related to your modifications, which I'm pretty sure it isn't.
spitfireflyer
Great job!!! It flies so much better now, wheel landings work perfectly now as it does in the real plane. I wish MilViz had done that but thank you for doing it
