This update adds limited airport functionality to the heliport. The original scenery folder is unchanged (modellib). The additional folder (airport) adds the airport functionality. Check out the ReadMe when you unzip the folder.
Stony Brook University Hospital Complex is made up of four hospitals: University Hospital, Children's Hospital, Southampton Hospital and Eastern Long Island Hospital. Opened in 1980, it serves also as a research and academic medical center.
A stone's throw north of KISP, the twin 334-foot towers are well-known reporting points for Long Island pilots.
If you're a helicopter pilot, test your skills landing on the elevated heliport. This minor update features an improved heliport as the only change from the first version. Version 1.2 adds a parking garage in front of the heliport at the request of some users. I find that the parking garage gives a better visual reference for a good approach.
This frame-rate-friendly add-on is yet another in my growing list of Long Island scenery.

I love the work you've done to properly represent Long Island! I took a flight in a friend's 150 a few weeks back. We flew on the north shore around Port Jeff and sure enough, your power plant, and Stony Brook models look nearly identical to the real thing. It's great to have those landmarks in the sim! I have some pics I wish I could post here on the site for other users to see, but there is no option to do so on these posts.

You were the main inspiration for all my Long Island stuff. I am forever indebted to you for asking for the Robert Moses Causeway. Thank you very much.
I'm just about to finish all the Hudson River lighthouses. I have used them to develop new techniques for scenery creation specific to MSFS.
Federico Pinotti in Italy and I are communicating about heliports, and the tricks I used to make the Stony Brook heliport work as a cold and dark starting point figure heavily in out plea to Asobo to make their new helicopter addition work better.
Anyway, it's a lot cheaper for a lost-soul retiree than a psychiatrist!
How's the new rig coming!
