This is a modification to the MSFS 2020 default Microsoft Curtiss JN-4 Jenny aircraft. This mod is primarily aimed at improving the overall flight dynamics of this aircraft, providing a more realistic flying experience that is much closer to the actual aircraft. Several changes have been made to the flight model and the aircraft weight and balance, which are all detailed in the Change Log file included under the Documentation folder.
This mod is easily installed by simply unzipping the download file and copying the mge-microsoft-aircraft-jn4 folder to the MSFS Community folder. It will then replace the existing default Curtiss JN-4 Jenny aircraft in the MSFS aircraft selection screen, and will also continue to utilize all existing aircraft Liveries. To uninstall the mod and return to using the MSFS default aircraft, simply remove it from the Community folder.

When flying old planes like this both in X-plane and in MSFS I always do these extra laps and cut the engine before landing and I have never had the need for doing the mentioned ground turns, which could be dangerous if you flew a plane with a rotary engine ( which this plane does not have for ref. )

thank you for everything youve done they have been great! Is there any chance you can do the bonaza v35?

I can only modify the MSFS default aircraft... Unfortunately, that is a payware add-on aircraft that I don't have.

Thank you for this. I love flying the old planes and the more real the better.

Thanks for the update. Good work iniBuilds, this radio is nice to have for nowadays flights.

Works perfectly.
Thanks for that.

Tip of the Day: To remove the engine cowling and see the amazingly well modelled engine, just click on the small metal angle bracket on the left side of the cockpit.

I'd like to see the main landing gear axle being one piece of steal tubing which goes ALL the way through the main gear assembly to each wheel hubcap. In addition, I believe the actual wheel axle TRAVEL up and down is much less than currently rendered. Also nice to see rendered would be the small aileron cable guide fitting mounted on the right side of the center section. The MSFS Curtiss JN-4D Jenny would then be just about a perfect rendering! Can these upgrades be incorporated into a future update for the Jenny?
Thanks, Gary

Unfortunately, I don't have the tools or skills required to modify the 3-D model.

Thank you very much!

Tip of the Day: The new release (1.2.0) of this aircraft has been tuned to more closely match the actual climb rate and max altitude performance of the real JN-4 Jenny, which was very underpowered and slow. You might even think it's broken, but it isn't... it's just very realistic!

Tip of the Day: On final approach the nose and fuel gauge will obstruct your view of the runway, until you get closer to it. If your view is blocked, just lean over and look out the side like the real-world pilots did by pressing [LEFT ARROW] or [RIGHT ARROW]. Another technique the original pilots used was an angled or arc final approach to the runway instead of a normal straight-in final. A crabbed or sideslip approach will also work well.

Tip of the Day: Since this aircraft has no attitude gauge, you must use another reference to determine your pitch attitude... The fuel gauge is very effective for this purpose, when it is centered on the horizon your pitch attitude is level.

Edit: This is a must-download for the Jenny. Flight dynamics and performance figures are spot on and it's more fun to fly than ever. Climb issues were addressed and it seems like the flight model is really dialed in. Bravo, this is the best Jenny we've ever had in a flight sim!
Also, this mod's aircraft.cfg overwrites any other mods, so if the user wants to remove the heat-blur, you can comment out these following two lines in the [EFFECTS] section of the arcraft.cfg, like this:
;effect.0 =VFX_ENG_Smoke_Right#(A:GENERAL ENG COMBUSTION:1, boolean)#FX_ASOBO_M_REACTORHEAT_TBM930
;effect.1 =VFX_ENG_Smoke_Left#(A:GENERAL ENG COMBUSTION:1, boolean)#FX_ASOBO_M_REACTORHEAT_TBM930

Nice work on this mod, definitely better than the original flight model. Thanks.
