A fictional repaint of Miltech's excellent MV-22B Osprey in the colours of the British Empire Test Pilots School (ETPS) based at MoD Boscombe Down in Wiltshire. The livery is inspired by that worn by the training school's former fleet, including the Westland Sea King and Hawker Siddeley Andover.
Established in 1943 to train test pilots and flight test engineers of fixed-wing and, later, rotary-wing aircraft, ETPS was the first school of its kind and paved the way for similar units elsewhere in world, including the USAF Test Pilot School at Edwards AFB, California, the US Navy Test Pilot School at Patuxent River, Maryland and the EPNER in France.
During its heyday, it operated an array of front-line fighter, helicopter and transport types along with various training types to provide its students with the comprehensive training they would need for a career in flight testing and aircraft evalation. ETPS and its associated research departments was privatised in 2001, and is now a joint-partnership between Qinetiq and the UK MoD.
