During your journey you will follow steps of the VIII-th british army during the campaign of Italy between 1943 and 1945. The bushtrip is made with the idea to grant historical informations as each waypoint (this is the goal, some waypoints are just needed to help you to choose your path). Moreover, I tried to use as possible visual landmarks for the guidance (follow this road, continue until the bridge...) and to rely less on instruments flight rules.
The trip is made for the FlyingIron Spitfire (payware), but an other file is available to be used with Fsadni Hawker Huricane (freeware) or the Daher (standard of MSFS).
The track and the distance between waypoints is set to be followed at high speed (about 250 knots), so you will need to follow a railway only once, other lines landmarks are highways, that you can easily spot. I recommend however to slow down in moutainous zones to follow the path more easily.
An extra-stop might be necessary in the first leg in order to refuel but should be avoidable. In a general rule, try to refuel at 100% as often as possible.
To end a leg, set the parking brake is enough.
It was fun to trace precisely the path of the army (and long).
I used many sources for the historical informations, mainly from wikipedia and articles related to the italy campaign and to the cities. But also the website of the american national WWII museum.
You fly above many cities and airports which have add-on sceneries among which you can find (the links correspond to which sceneries I chose) :
Arezzo, Ariccia, Bari (stadium), Bitonto, Brindisi, Burano, Castelmola, Chioggia, Foggia, Messina, Monterotondo, Ravenna, Reggio Calabria, Rome, Taranto, Terlizzi, Trani
LMML, (LICI), LICE, LICR, LIMD, LIBG, LIUN, LIRL, LIRQ, LIDR, LJDI
A technique to search interesting sceneries is to load the flight plan (PLN) into little navmap and then select sceneries on its path by comparing the scenery map on flightsim.to.
I also recommend you to use GAIST and the MSFS map enhancement.
The bushtrip is available in 14 languages.

Hi, did you already download this plane (the flyingIron spitfire) ? If yes, you can try this procedure, with my bushtrip and the plane you want to fly on it : https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/how-to-change-aircrafts-of-bushtrips/211059

Hi ! I love bushtrips! It's even better when we fly in groups. Can I have permission to turn your solo bushtrip into multiplayer so everyone can see each other on the trip?
YBau author
Thank you for your comment, I updated the 3 files for a multiplayer use (even if the version number doesn't match)

salut, merci pour ce travail remarquable. J'ai donc commencé par l'opération HUSKY avec un P40F de 1943. Voici le lien de ce premier trip. Je me suis arrêté à SIGONELLA AB LICZ. http://www.pilote-virtuel.com/viewtopic.php?pid=1106082#p1106082

You have a typo in your B/W Spitfire pic ... should be VIII (not VII) ... *but* it's more commonly referred to as the "8th" Army. My father fought at Monte Cassino 😉

Thank you notifying it ! I corrected this.
Happy that this trip meets your family history. Monte Cassino is one of the areas overflow
