English cockpit and RAF/RNZAF liveries for the Swissmilsim DH Venom
Cockpit
Translates most of the french/German text to English, now complete.
Recalibrates ASI in KNOTS, VSI in FPM and altimeter in feet.
The altimeter is slightly tricky - the thin needle indicates 0-3000 feet on the outer scale, at which point you use the fat needle first on the outer scale from 3500 feet to 30,000 feet, then the inner scale up to 50,000 feet.
WR410/G-BLKA
RAF camouflage and Suez stripes as flown by the Vintage Aircraft Team from 1987-1993. It carries the emblem of No. 6 Squadron the 'Flying Can Openers', who flew the Venom from Cyprus in 1956 operating against Egyptian airfields during the Suez crisis.
In truth this should be an ex-Swiss round-nose model, though the same registration and serial was later applied to a pointy-nose replacement. Purists will also note roundels and serials on the booms are misplaced and too small, best I can do.
Still a WIP, texture discovery continues but not yet complete.
WK436/G-VENM
Another 'airshow' livery from the 00's, G-VENM was an ex-Swiss FB50 (so not actually a pointy-nose version) restored and operated by Kennet Aviation and later moved to the Classic Airforce, painted to represent Venom FB1 WK436 of 11 Squadron as it appeared in 1955
WE434/ZK-VNM
Currently flying in New Zealand, owned by Wanganui Sea and AirCharters (2006) Ltd. and painted to represent Venom WE434 which was an aircraft on lease from the RAF Far East Air Force to 14 Squadron of the RNZAF, c/n 840 is a FB 50 model that was manufactured by the Federal Aircraft Factory at Emmen in Switzerland in 1956 for the Swiss Air Force as J-1630. After being retired in the mid 1980s it was restored by Halos AG at lausanne entering the Swiss civil register as HB-RVA. In 2002 ownership changed to Pegus AG and it was operated by the Swiss Flying Museum until its cancellation from the Swiss civil register on 24/11/11.
Venezuelan 3834
Bonus livery...should be more metallic
This is STILL a WIP, I haven't yet found all the textures to modify and some things are just not possible.
Sadly some items are the wrong size and in the wrong place, particularly wrong is the WE434 serial on the left boom - it should be at the back and on both booms but this isn't possible.
Would it be better omitted?
