WF-9
Kyrketorp Warfield-9 (1940)
Airport name: Field 9 Kyrketorp
Field 9 had runways of the asphalt type during the standby years.
Field 8 Mockeltorp and Field 9 Kyrketorp were built approximately at the same time, between October 1939 and September 1940.
On both fields, attack aircraft were the primary task.
The fields are only 2 kilometers apart
In order to strengthen a weak air defense, a decision was made in 1939 to establish standby airfields in Sweden.
A total of 39 war airfields were created between 1939 and 1945.
BAS 40 was the name of the system.
My ambition with this MSFS project is to primarily create an opportunity to start or end a flight from these destinations.
The scenarios in this first version are very simple, but over time I will supplement with buildings and other things.
The war airfields were in most cases created to be as difficult as possible to detect from the air. They would look like normal agricultural fields
and the few buildings would look like ordinary barns. These were in several cases equipped with "hangar ports" to be able to perform
easier field service and also hide the aircraft from the air.
