Modified the original aircraft sound files to suppress the very high-pitched, shrill engine whine. The original T-37B's two CONTINENTAL-Teledyne J69T25 engines earned it the nickname "the 6000 pound dog whistle" for a reason! However, it is extremely uncomfortable for simulation pilots (and their family members or roommates!) to listen to. The T-37B was the first aircraft I've ever simulated with that resulted in several family noise complaints during my simulated operations!
I received permission to upload these modified sound files from VrilleAPlat, who uploaded the original (excellent) T-37B model. To use my sound mod, you must download his original model here: https://flightsim.to/file/52043/cessna-t-37b-tweet
This mod features
- Sound folder containing filtered WAV files to remove the "screeches" and high-pitched whine, as well as a modified sound.xml configuration file.
- Also includes a reworked shut down engine sound file (a merge of the original sound files) to have a smoother sound on shut down.
- Preview reworked sounds here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZormIaCUHU
Thanks
- VrilleAPlat for the excellent original project

Installation
- You must download the original model from VrilleAPlat first: https://flightsim.to/file/52043/cessna-t-37b-tweet
- Navigate to the Airplane folder: Community\vrilleaplat-cessna-t-37\SimObjects\Airplanes\vrilleaplat-cessna-t37
and replace the entire original "sound" folder with my modified "sound" folder
- Put your ear plugs away... the aircraft will no longer make your ears bleed!
NOTE: I've included the default WAV files under the "DefaultSound" subfolder alongside the "LowSound" subfolder if you ever want to hear the piercing sound of the J69s again.

Thank you.

Great adjustment to the jet engines sound. The original high-pitched sound might be more realistic, but your modification makes it even more enjoyable. I can even hear other cockpit sounds now that I could not hear before.

Awesome...

Exactly what I needed to enjoy this nice plane much more! Thanks!

Thank you. Yes, it was a bit much. I pity and envy the pilots who flew these. Love the plane!

We had enough ear protection, either from our helmets or the large "Mickey Mouse" noise suppressing headgear that we wore on the ramp, that no permanent damage was done (at least for us, the pilots - I have no idea how the ramp personnel made out!)
