I don't think there's any need for this any more. This will only be of use if you don't want to use up your storage with the rather better official version. I know I can be a right space miser so it may as well stay put for old time's sake.
This is a bit of a kludge made from land reclaimed from the sea.
I'd love to offer you water to splosh through and sand to whip up but the ground textures are a git to control so the surface is concrete that sort of looks like sand.
With proper sand I couldn't get rid of a mysterious undersea meadow that turned big patches into lush grass. I may figure out something better.
This has five parking spots and a fuel truck. Not sure whether to make the runways visible or not, the real ones aren't obviously, so I'll leave them for you to guess for now.
V 1.1 includes a full set of taxiways, dunno if they work, filled in the road surrounding the airport properly and I figured out how to make the shoreline a whole lot less janky. I also took the artistic decision to add a bunch of wooden posts to delineate the runways. Not sure how effective it is yet.
V 1.2 is about repairing the taxiways and getting the AI pilot to work. It does, a teensy bit, though the pilot often makes a break for freedom or sits there and does nothing. A tad more detail has been added to the airport too.
V1.3 managed to add proper ATC and ground services. The options available are rather more extravagent than the real thing I must say. I still cannae design a taxi system that the AI can cope with. It works in bursts and then gives up at illogical points. Too many runways too close together I guess. I'll continue to fiddle.
V 1.4 - The autogen buildings have been binned and better approximation of the terminal has been stuck on. Parking spaces have been changed from medium GA to small GA to get rid of jets. Signs have been tweaked. ATIS has been added but I've no idea which actual airport it comes from. Redid the pole system to aid some visibility and comprehensibility but it's still not A1 and never will be.
Two versions are now included - one with poles and one with no visual aids at all for those hard core realists which is the second separate download from this page.
Issues - The runways are sometimes visible, sometimes not. No idea why and I can't stop it. At worst you'll get some skid marks so imagine a Hebridean granny rakes it with her little tractor to help you out.
AI still goes nuts. It can't comprehend so many runways in such small space.
Runway signs are minuscule despite being set at the right size.

Does this work with latest version? It hasn't been updated in a long time

It should still work fine but there's no real need for this any more. They hand crafted it for the UK update which you can find in your content manager.
I did leave it here for anyone who uninstalls the hand crafted one to save some space as this is only a few kilobytes, but I've never bothered to check whether there's any overlap with roads etc.
I might have a look now actually.

The runways that are marked received one sad road sign at the end of them as that's the only thing that sort of matched.
Edit - found some wooden posts buried in the objects and added them.
