This is the Milviz F-86 Sabre for FSX, converted to native GLTF format for use with MSFS and distributed as freeware with permission from Milviz/Blackbird. This aircraft DOES work in VR as of version 10
Unfortunately the V10 update to the model will likely break some of the liveries put out by others. The fixes should be quick and easy; I hope the authors will update their files soon.
Key Features:
- Wing ordinance can be toggled between clean, fuel tank, rockets, and a bomb using the payload weight in the pop-up menu. Default loadout is tanks. Whatever loadout you select can be seen by other players.
- Air show smoke (open source courtes of Touchingcloud) is tied to the Logo Lights
- Canopy can be opened when on the ground using the Taxi Lights keybind
- When stationary and on the ground, a GPU can be shown by toggling the Wing Lights
The cockpit gauges are largely functional but nothing in the cockpit is clickable. Milviz made this a condition of releasing it. For an easier way to read your altitude, airspeed, etc. look up the Shift Z stats add-on.
A big reason for this project was to convert the exterior model to native .gltf format so that it could have the true reflective appearance of an F-86. This requires proper Comp texture files to be created for each livery.
The base package comes a number of liveries; some have been updated with Comp files thanks to Joe Laars. The other liveries have generic Comp files that apply a uniform roughness value - not ideal but good enough for now. The rest of the original FSX livery folders are included, but disabled.
I am hoping the community will help with remastering the older liveries so that they can be included in a future version. I also encourage everyone to create new liveries and share them with the community. The original FSX paintkit files are included in the pack.
Someone asked for a way to support my efforts, so I created a page to accept tips if you are so inclined. Tips are absolutely not expected but any support is greatly appreciated - https://www.buymeacoffee.com/aviator671

EDIT: found the solution. in aircraft config at the bottom you need to add a value to the "ui_certified_ceiling =" parameter. default is -1 typically, which will spawn you into the ground on reset since max altitude is -1 lol

Is it possible to add the Asobo default Garmin GPS 430/530 to this panel? This is my #1 airplane to fly in the sim. Also FSRadiopanel is a great addition too, for those who haven't tried it yet. it gives the F-86 a very workable autopilot, radio stack, panel switches for lights, mooving map, etc....
