Nested in the Pyrenees mountains between France and Spain, Andorra is one of the very few countries in the world without any airfield on its territory. Only a few helipads are available.
The closer airfield is LESU (La Seu d’Orgell), located in Spain. This airport is however not suitable for large aircrafts.
In March 2021, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services (CCIS) of Andorra revealed a feasibility study to build a local international airport in order to increase tourism. Objective of this new airport was also to accomodate large aircrafts such as A320 or B737. This feasibility study included technical analysis for the location of a 1800m long runway, preliminary architectural renderings for an elegant airport terminal by Rafael de La-Hoz architecture firm, and a 3D-rendered video of a GPS approach by an A320.

In June 2021, Andorra’s Aeronautics Authority stopped this initiative for a new airport, considering in particular that minimum safety requirements from ICAO and EASA could not be met.
This add-on recreates the Andorra Airport as initially planned in the 2021 feasibility study from the CCIS of Andorra.
Key features:
- Complete custom “XAND” airport located in Grau Roig valley, with extensive terraforming.
- 1800m long runway (14-32).
- taxiways & apron to accommodate GA & large aircrafts.
- custom 3D buildings for the terminal and control tower, inspired by the initial architectural renderings of the project.
- ILS approach available for runway 14 - Freq. 110.30 Mhz - Id: AND
- GPS approach available for runway 14 with custom waypoints MASSA, RANSO, SOLDU. This approach is inspired by the one shown in the video presented by the CCIS of Andorra.
Notes:
- due to the limitations of the SDK from MSFS, some pylons remain visible on the left of the threshold for runway 14. Any suggestion to remove them properly is welcome !
- depending on the avionics suite installed on your aircraft, the 2 included approaches (ILS14 and GPS14) may not be managed exactly the same way. I’ve experienced in particular some lateral deviation when using the ILS.
- the following parking positions are occupied by static aircrafts : 13, 15, 16, 21, 23, 26 and 27.
