Update for Brazzaville Maya-Maya Airport by FSXcenery, also known as MSFS Scenery Builders
Time for an update of this one. FSXcenery mass produces sceneries of smaller US airports but also fills a gap by doing locations that no one else does, like many African airports. The quality is sometimes pretty low and Brazzaville is no exception. I have seen some decent airports of - what I think - is a single guy.
When I bought this airport about 2 years ago it was bugged with no open runway at all! Real life Brazzaville received a new runway in 2009/2010. It was built parallel and very close to the old one which was then closed and temporarily used as a taxiway. Today only a very small portion of that is still used as taxiway and the rest is X-ed out.
Unfortunately FSXcenery had both runways closed. My complaint to the developer got quickly answered but from then on it took about 1.5 years until we got an update. At least we had a working runway then but on top we got missing textures. You find them on a small sign or whatever it is and on the inside walls of two GA hangars. You get the usual pink glowing-in-the-dark-walls instead. Since my second message to the developer is now at least half a year old I decided to fix it myself.
Since it is not always possible to remove original buildings I put slightly larger hangars on top so the bad ones are now covered. I also removed the untextured sign. As an extra I put in the X-es on the old runway, which were now missing as well plus a few goodies:
Additional things added:
- Runway signs
- Runway guard lights
- Taxiway lights
- Airport lighting
Hope some of you will find it useful.
Installation
My update is buildt 'on top' of the original scenery. None of their files were altered. Please unzip my file into your community folder. It needs to be installed parallel to the Brazzaville payware.
Check the dependency below. It must be installed to properly see the runway guard lights.
