This is my very first attempt to create - or better - recreate scenery for MSFS 2020. My goal is to recheck all these little airstrips in Canada for their accuracy since this part of the FS world is still more or less abandoned. Even the current WU11 only deals with bigger cities and some bigger regional airports. Ok, after flying over Canada for a long time (somehoiw NeoFly got me there when I started using it) I found out pretty fast that Canadian or Alaskan airstrips are a finicky thing: the problem is that all these places are quite remote, thus only rarely visited and very often it's very hard to find any information about these installations.
For my approach I'm using Google Maps images to get more detail about buildings and the shape and natural conditions of these airstrips. Also I use different pilots websites to get information if an airstrip is still in service, what kind of services are offered there etc.
This specific airstrip here features
- a much more "tamed" foliage and tree arrangement (the Vanilla version likes to put a group of really high trees short before every threshold o.O)
- a clearing of brush and tree accurately shaped to the satellite image at both thresholds - hence the tamed foliage
- a parking spot for small GA
- a truck and an RV which were visible on the GMaps image - at least they seemed to be such. Tell me if I should remove them. This airstrip doesn't feature any buildings in RL.
Please let me know if you like my work and also what I could optimize. So far I didn't have any issues, though sometimes, I had texture glitches which already appeared in the SDK (flickering tiles on the apron and the runway, I simply don't know what's causing this). If you find them maybe you can tell me how to remove them.
Credits go out to Deltatango who created the Caravan asset.

A nice start on a big project!
I'm doing something similar For Regional airports in Alaska and BC. I keep a spreadsheet with about 200 airports that I need to either create or upgrade to be more realistic. Keep up the good work.

Thank you. I don't know if I am really able to redo all of them because it's actually a lot of work. First doing good research and finding RL photography that gives you at least an impression on how things look like (satellite imagery is mostly blurry crap in this region). And second, most of the time it's figuring out which generic building might fit the most because I simply don't have time to dig into Blender. Would be sweet if I was able to do my own models and libs though.
