This is my second work as a noob scenery creator. This one was a lot more challenging than the last one. Most troubles I had with the fine details I wanted to add (fences, fenceposts (!!!), barrels (!!!) etc.) It took me quite a while to be halfway satisfied because the scenery libraries are vast and don't neccessarily tell you what hides behind the name of an object. Guides here in this forum are also already outdated and often enough, it ended up clicking myself through 100+ generic buildings. On top of that, if you want to find e.g. tutos teaching you how to connect Taxi pathways to parking spaces forget it. It seems no one is even bothering anymore doing new guides becaus ASOBO constantly turns the whole SDK upside down. However, it's done now and I hope you like it.
This airstrip features
- a completely new set of buildings
- some animated characters that give the scene a bit more "feeling"
- a much more detailed layout (I tried to get as close as possible to current Google imagery)
- a "wild" appearance because first, this is NOT a concrete but a gravel runway and second, it normally looks like cut with a knife and a geometric triangle. I tried to break out of that by making the runway transparent and at the same time adding a texturized polygon layer with a lot nodes over it.
BE AWARE: I used ESRI (ArcGIS) images mostly when creating this airstrip, since they are the ones with the best quality. Google I used to recheck currency because they seem to be the most up to date ones. So it can happen that satellite images with objects on the ground and the objects I placed on them do not always line up correctly, depending which map service you use. The deviation between ESRI, Google and BING as well as MSFS Vanilla BING is quite strong.
Feel free to contact or comment if something doesn't work, you have suggestions or - on the other hand - everything is to your satisfaction
I used some scenery libraries from other users on this site again. Since there are a lot more objects now I cannot say specifically whose work I implemented here in particular. Thus I will name the people and their library projects as follows:

I really like your runway texturing work! Keep it up!

Thanks, I like these airstrips to be a bit wild because they are normally not places being used for regular commute, hence they "overgrow" a bit. I would, however, be so much happier if ASOBO would take care of the texture flickering issue in the SDK. Sometimes I reopen a project and textures are not visible at all, only by moving the drone camera like a maniac
