The Banning Municipal Airport is a city-owned airport located about a mile southeast of Banning, in Riverside County, California. It's a single asphalt runway that can accommodate various aircraft, including private single-engine planes and corporate jets.
The airport is located between the Los Angeles bassin and 10 miles west of Palm Springs international airport. There're with some hangars, a fuel island and a FBO. During the summer season, it hosts firefighting various aircraft despite being close to Hemet.
Remarks:Unfortunately, the city of Banning has began phasing it out with the approval of FAA releasing the city from its obligation to keep its in operation. Two new facilities ("Estes Express Lines" freight shipping and Skechers warehouse) adjacente to the airport now exit but are not present in the underlaying Bing imagery.

MORE INFO FOR PILOTS
Situated at an elevation of 2,222 feet (677 meters), the airport has a single asphalt runway, designated 8/26, measures 4,955 by 100 feet (1,510 x 30 meters). It's CTAF/Unicom radio. No intersection takeoffs to the west. Runway 08/29 no straight-in landings. Runway 26 : after takeoff avoid overflying houses 4 miles west, right traffic for runway 26.
KBNG is challenging for small GA aircraft as it is situated in a huge mountain pass with 10,834’ Mt San Jacinto on one side and the 11,499’ Mt. San Gorgornio on the north side. It is highly recommended to fly early in the morning to avoid strong wind, sometimes crosswind and high temp. Add that the SOCAL Tracon has limited radio and radar coverage inside the pass ;)
