A repaint of the excellent Asobo/Microsoft/Orbx de Havilland Canada DHC-4 Caribou in the Vietnam War-era colours of the US Air Force. This particular example, 62-4160 (c/n 98), was originally delivered to the US Army in March 1963 as a CV-2B and assigned to the 135th Aviation Company at Fort Benning. In March 1966 'Clementine', as the aircraft had been named, was deployed to Qui Nhon in Vietnam to support the ongoing conflict. It was transferred a year later to the USAF under Operation Red Leaf and reassigned to the newly formed 458th Squadron at Cam Ranh Bay, where it received the 'KC' tailcode and the unit's distinctive red fin cap; the Caribou was also renamed 'Pamela Ferne' in tribute to the 10-month-old daughter of its then crew chief Stoney Faubus.
160 remained in theatre until September 1971 when it returned to the US and the 357th TAS (AFRES) at Maxwell AFB, Alabama (recoded 'IM'), subsequently spending time with the New Jersey and Maryland ANGs before finishing its miltary service back at Maxwell in 1983. Two years in storage at Davis-Monthan AFB followed before 'Pamela Ferne' was demobbed and sold to NewCal Aviation as N800NC, later flying for Union Flights and Greatland Air Cargo in Alaska with whom it suffered substantial damage when its nosegear collapsed during landing at New Stuyahok, AK in 1996. It was subsequently repaired only to suffer further damage in 1998 when it broke through the ice at Lake Iliamna. Not to be deterred, it was repaired yet again and exported to the Philippines as RP-C2702 where it soldiered on until 2011; today it reportedly remains stored in Manila.

Thank you. I do not see the "DLC" requirement noted at the top of the page. Is there one?
